"Deep in the sweat-slicked shadows of a subterranean circuit party, a congregation of scantily dressed masc queens writhe to the rhythm of a commanding voice cracking through the air. Drawn together by a pulsing energy, their bodies instinctively move toward an iridescent orb floating mid-air, glowing hotter with every beat.
Hypnotic and divine, it repeats, “Gonna make you sweat”
Obediently, the queens begin to drip. The rising heat wrings every pore, and the floor beneath them turns slick with luminous sweat. This pleases The Orb. It feeds on the heat and euphoria as it tightens its hold as their new master.

These seasoned circuit stompers had seen many a party, but none like this. They move sharper and faster, giving themselves over completely. The Orb pulses then slowly descends, dipping itself into the sea of sweat it has summoned. It begins to churn.

Swirling 🌀 Swishing 🌊 Vibrating 🫨

The sweat rises with it. The liquid spins into a vast vortex that snakes through the cavernous party space, encircling the queens. The whirlpool rushes around them roaring and elemental, but never knocks them from their feet. Instead, it lifts them into a state of reverence. The entire subterranean cave system now belongs to The Orb.
And then within the spiral a figure begins to form.

The dancers freeze entranced as the vortex tightens and out steps a magnificent being, 7 feet tall and gleaming with beauty and power. A deity born of sweat and bassline. The crowd erupts in ecstasy.

Having debuted on 2tone Records, Charles Pierre may be a relatively new name but his productions have been championed by the Solid Grooves Records co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA for quite some time. With consistent road-testing and undeniably strong crowd reactions the label now provides a platform for Pierre’s next anticipated outing.

A rumbling bassline takes centre stage in ‘Directions’ whilst a recognizable sample, thudding kicks and various effects come into play. ‘Right Beat’ is more mesmerizing by comparison, featuring sharp percussion, hypnotic looped vox and a sultry low-end.

Making their debut on Resonance Records, Guille Placencia and George Privatti join forces to deliver a blistering two-track EP to Max Chapman and George Smeddles' imprint, as the label bosses themselves weigh in with a heavy-duty remix of the title track to complete the package.

Opening the EP, the title track does exactly what it says on the tin - a rolling bassline underpins intricate percussion alongside a vocal sample that is going to blow the doors off. It's a strong opening and by no means the only highlight of the release. The pair's second original track, 'The Superfreak' takes the energy to the next level with a cut that has peak time written all over it. Expect serious disco influences and a vibe that has been a staple part of dancefloors for three decades and still hits the spot - 'The Superfreak' is proof that the producers' extensive experience behind the decks has translated to the studio as this is a serious weapon designed to work the crowd.
 
A collaborative pairing that has seen them already hit the coveted #1 spot on Beatport this year, Guille and George are a force to be reckoned with and when asked about the release, said 'We are very excited about this release, Max and George have been releasing a lot of great music and Resonance Records has been a label we have loved for a long time. We believe the two records we have given them have big potential and hopefully they'll hit the spot when the EP drops next month'

On the remix front, long-time collaborators Max Chapman and George Smeddles have teamed up to give 'Dynamite' their own interpretation - punchy drums and a low-slung groove that just oozes energy, the pair make great use of the vocal sample without relying on it to carry the tune. With a tribal vibe that doesn't focus on obvious drops and hooks, the emphasis is on the quality production that keeps 'Dynamite' flying from start to finish.
Another stand-out release from Resonance Records which reinforces the quality A&R behind the imprint and is undoubtedly going to be getting a solid rinse on terraces all over this summer.

Fast-rising Balcan newcomer Reblok presents his scintillating Hot Creations debut single Smile, released this October on the acclaimed label.

The fist-pumping groove of Smile opens the release, driving hi-hats are introduced, bounding into anthemic pop-rap vocals, alongside playful keys that add colour to ignite the dance floor. On Roots the sense of fun is continued, snare-rolls combine with mouth-watering filtered synth and springy samples, creating a heads-down, hands up tool.

Originally from Croatia but now residing in Serbia, Goran Paradinja also known as Reblok is one of the best newcomers to the scene. He has released an already impressive back catalogue of music on some of the biggest labels including Elrow, Viva Music, Suara, Toolroom, Repopulate Mars, Sola, Abode, Stereo Productions and Material. As well as recently touring across the globe in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Germany and the Czech Republic, his music has been played by some of the most respected DJs such as Jamie Jones, Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Seth Troxler.
