Written for my senior recital, this brass quintet is based upon the famous pig-man character from Journey to the West, hence the mixed themes of adventure and humor.

With some embarrassment, I confess that some of my structural choices were based on video game music. The sudden shifts in tone and thematic material were drawn by my experiences playing the Legend of Zelda, particularly in the way the music would change suddenly as you entered certain dungeon rooms or various contrasting areas of the mythical land of Hyrule
