Audio Obscura Is Playing In The Ether Waves

This is a conceptualization of lasting experience without resolution, a piece without a traditionally satisfying conclusion. This is me working through my recent trauma of a miscarriage. I used the numbers of my hCG hormone levels to generate chords and melodies, layering the possibilities of ifs, thens and buts. Rather than wrapping up thematic materials in a tidy package at the end, I let them be.

1981 Eric Wagner - Rhapsody for Piano

Inspired by a fellow high-school graduate's invention of a two-piano-keyboard controller used to play two pianos via a pair of vorsetzers, this piece is a largely-single-velocity MIDI-based rhapsodic exploration of various musical ideas and methods.  The original included some non-piano elements, but Sam, my 17-month-old son, produced this version by letting me know all the parts he didn't like in the earlier version (starting with the non-piano parts), which I then removed.

More experimentation with strings, composed with my 17-month-old Sam's direct input, until he fell asleep about two-thirds of the way through.  I did some watch shopping over the weekend (settled on Seiko SNKL23), which might be reflected here.

A toy Playmobil traffic cone spent 40 years in a man's lung, between 1977 and 2017. I spent much of the same interval living in emotional gunk, and these tracks are part of my early process of gaining awareness of such and letting things be as they are.
