After its outstanding reception following its initial release back in January, Wankelmut & Emma Louise's infectious single - 'My Head Is A Jungle' returns with a souped up package and is set to be released worldwide on 15TH September via Positiva. Wankelmut who has mainly been deejaying in underground clubs in Berlin such as Sisyphos and MIKZ, became 'Newcomer of the Year' last year (GROOVE Magazine) and has been in high demand as both DJ and Remixer ever since. Wankelmut has a very entertaining and well crafted way of deejaying with a huge variety of styles from Deep House to Techno. Beside playing all over Europe he remixed Gossip, Jay Haze, Lukas Graham and various other underground records which established his status within the Techno House Scene. On his 24th birthday in December 2011 Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilßner uploaded his unofficial remix for Asaf Avidan's "Reckoning Song' to Soundcloud. More than one year later the now official remix has sold 1.3 Million copies on Sony/Columbia, scored over 100 Million Youtube Plays and entered the #1 spot in 8 european countries, as well as being the best-selling track on Beatport last year.

In cooperation with the talented Australian singer Emma-Louise, the duo deliver a finely tuned piece of melodic brilliance. Wankemut's faultless Tech-house production, and Emma-Louise's blissful vocals will have you instantly hooked and will be circling around your head for days to come. In addition to the supreme remix package from Gui Boratto, Kasper Bjorke and Solee, new remixes come from Friend Within, and Marc 'MK' Kinchen, who steps up to deliver one of his much loved MK edits which premiered last Friday on Pete Tong.

April showers bring May flowers, but this April Claude VonStroke brings you 'The Rain Break.' Inspired by two different songs from the 80’s - (Raze’s classic “Break For Love” and Oran Juice Jone’s “The Rain”), Claude has replayed and re-sung all the music from scratch to make a special cover tune of both tracks changed and combined into a surefire Dirtybird classic. 

To quote VonStroke, “I kept singing the Break For Love bassline over and over again in my head but the vocal that always popped in over the top was from the Oran Juice Jones. I cant explain why that happened but i just thought they went together so well that i ran with it.”

'Here Comes the B” is a much weirder affair. Built with massive psychedelic effects, a huge kick and almost no hi-hat pattern, this is late night cavemen music at its best. 

This big release from CVS will have you wishing for a downpour so you can go Walking In The Rain.

After absolutely crushing it with his Watermelons / Fly With Me EP from last year, he brings the same wobbly edge on his second appearance, 'Rhinoceros,' a from-the-wild two-tracker that’s sure to rattle a few cages. Living on the flip is “The Cone,” which sees Watson getting phenomenally wavy with oscillating basslines that slink and slide beneath silky-smooth arpeggs and a seemingly satisfied-to-the-core vocal sample.

Once upon a time, Botnek were on their first European tour, and as things go when touring abroad, we had a little downtime. No one is going to a club on a Tuesday afternoon. Well, apparently they get down like that in Germany, but I digress. So us two friendly wide eyed Canadians had some time to kill. We had stayed with some friends in Milano, and our next stop was a hotel in Bologna. This is where our story starts.

One room, two DJs, a sink filled with ice and beers. Neither of us spoke any Italian, but our Italian friends (see previous paragraph) had taught us 'the only two things [we] needed to know to survive in Italy':

'Ciao Bella' (Hello, Beautiful). 'Due Piadina' (Two Piadinas).
Here's what happened.

Day one, we walk into a sandwich shop next to our hotel. 'Ciao Bella. Due Piadina.' we say. The very, very Italian man behind the counter, has some counter questions - all to which we smiled and repeated the only two phrases we knew. He glowers. We receive two Italian flatbreads, filled with salty meats and cheese. Let me tell you, it was perfection.

The next day, we return to the shop. The same Italian man raises one eyebrow. The same Italian phrase was murmured from our mouths. We receive two Italian flatbreads. The man chuckles.

On our final day in Bologna, before heading to the train station, we stop in at the shop. The same Italian man sees us and before we can say anything, he smiles, and in a very, very Italian way, says 'Ciao Bella! Due Piadina!' We smile back. We had made a friend in Bologna. We had two more flatbreads, and were on our way.

So you see, a piadina is a very special Italian delicacy, and that is exactly what Genova Italy's GIANT has on the menu for us today. 'Bubble Shot' and 'Do it' - two very special tracks from our own Italian delicacy.

"PASS ME A SHAKER!" The words reach you from afar in a South American accent. You glance to the side and see a beautiful woman, dressed head to toe in bright colors. She’s shuffling her feet in a very 'salsa-ish' fashion with a giant smile. It must be fiesta time, because she feels like dancing. Would someone please get her a shaker!?

Some people call him the Brazilian Stallion. OK truthfully we just made that up, but it does have a nice ring to it. Ricardo, professionally known as @ciszakofficial, is a gun in the studio. 

Throughout his new 2 tracker you can hear the attention to detail when it comes to crafting his bass, drums, and leads. The a-side, 'Check Me Out' featuring Rhiannon Roze is a dance-floor destroyer. Its fast, heavy, the synths are bangin’, and all of those elements are weaved around a deep synth breakdown and cheeky vocal. The b-side 'That Beat' is a switch to the dark side with a locked bass groove perfect for those early morning hours.

So do us a favour will you – pass this man a shaker! Welcome to the family Ciszak…

For Sam Walker and Gavin Royce, the question is the fundamental test of their studio output. Simple as it may sound, for this perfectionist pair it’s anything but. Their innate dance floor intuition, combined with years of experience behind the decks, drives them to create music that isn’t just playable — it’s irresistible.

First introduced by way of New York City's early-aughts dance music scene, Sam Walker and Gavin Royce first teamed up for a remix in 2011. The duo found early success on tastemaker labels like Crosstown Rebels, OFF Recordings, and Moda Black, scoring an Essential New Tune nod from Pete Tong with 2014’s “Sister.”  The indie dance and deep house sounds that informed Walker & Royce’s earliest work soon gave way to something different. Quirky accents and bouncy synths, previously deeper in the mix, leapt to the forefront, backed by a propulsive new energy. The success of their November 2015 “Bright Lights” remix was a clear indication that they were onto something.

In October 2017, Walker & Royce released their debut album Self Help on Dirtybird, which both showcased and expanded upon their now-signature sound. The guys enlisted numerous vocalists, including Green Velvet, Dances With White Girls, and Sophiegrophy, to make Self Help feel like a packed house party – while leaving no doubt about who was hosting.  Self Help was followed by further experimentation and growth. Sam and Gavin have collaborated with Claude Vonstroke, Ardalan, Chris Lake and VNSSA just to name a few as well as remixed Channel Tres, LP Giobbi, The Knocks, Justin Jay, Gorgon City, Mindchatter; and put out music on Relief, Black Book, HotBOi Records and more. Their Rave Grave EP was the inaugural release on Diplo’s house-focused imprint Higher Ground.  Continuing to push boundaries, they have launched their own label Rules Don’t Apply Records, with the ethos just as the name states…No Rules, just good music.

Walker & Royce have spent years honing in on their one-of-a-kind style, meticulously crafting the sounds they want their fans to hear in clubs, at festivals and in their headphones. The result is a cohesive, career-defining body of work that firmly places the duo at the forefront of dance music's future.
