Glaswegian tastemaker Arielle Free returns to Defected Records alongside multi-faceted Might Delete Later to deliver ‘Shy’. An accomplished DJ, producer and BBC broadcaster with a distinct house sonic, Arielle’s previous Defected release ‘Feels So Good’ was a 2023 standout, earning support from fellow BBC tastemakers Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah. Lyrically, ‘Shy’ is inspired by real confessions of insecurity and self-acceptance from an anonymous voicemail, per Might Delete Later’s unique process. Marking a fresh sonic approach for Arielle Free on Defected, the record utilises live instruments to support an uplifiting topline, creating a pepped-up dose of house that is sure to light up dancefloors and the airwaves alike.
