Moscow Calling

Walter Alter worked as a painter, sculptor, poet and experimental noise musician with several ensembles in San Francisco during the 1980's.  The improvised music posted on SoundCloud was the band Ear Nerve's only digitally recorded studio session created with an eclectic array of audio signal generators and processors culled from pawn shops and debris boxes that were constantly replaced and upgraded as they were destroyed during Ear Nerve's many energetic and unpredictable performances.  The musical objective was simply to see what the gear would do while making it fit together, sort of.  The various free form "melody lines" gyre and gimbal through a timbral landscape shaped only by imagination and the capabilities of the various circuitries involved.  We did it for the fun of it, and it was.
