I first became involved with electronic music in the early 2000s. Gravitating towards jungle and drum and bass, my first forays into production were made alongside my brother Rohan. Releasing and touring under the “Vice Versa” moniker and thanks to the support from local Sydney DJs, we managed to catch the attention of legendary drum and bass figure LTJ Bukem, enjoying a string of high profile releases on his seminal label ‘Good Looking Records’. Residencies at most of Sydney's major clubs and playing support for touring D&B luminaries such as Goldie, Calibre, DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem and Total Science followed...

After a hiatus, in 2022 I rediscovered my love for writing music and largely thanks to a series of mixes released by my close friend DJ Lucian, I found a new muse and appreciation for the moods and grooves of house music. Newly-inspired, I sparked up the 'Miraj' project. My first releases surfaced in 2023 on labels such as Valiant, Celestial and EmbarrassedArts and there's plenty more to come in 2024 and beyond.

Rowie hails from sunny Durban, South Africa, but now resides in Auckland, New Zealand. He grew up listening to Hip Hop and House so it will come as no surprise that his signature sound is a blend of the two. With those roots he is also at home playing a down tempo vibe incorporating funk, soul and disco. Having moved from the dance floor to DJ booth offers him a nice advantage when reading a crowd during sets. Fun behind and in front of the decks is what its all about.

My work explores the relationship between Critical theory and copycat violence.
With influences as diverse as Null Moment and Blunt Object, new combinations are crafted from both traditional and modern structures.
Ever since I was a pre-adolescent I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of the Null Object. What starts out as yearning soon becomes manipulated into a cacophony of distress, leaving only a sense of failing and the dawn of a new order.
As subtle replicas become reconfigured through studious and academic practice, the viewer is left with an insight into the darkness of our existence.
