DJ Dain (Andrew Bowers) is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning composer, producer and DJ specializing in Mashups, Summer Jams, and feel-good tracks unearthed from Dance Music's basement. He mixes sets that sound like 2manyDJs hijacked one of Dr. Dre's samplers that's being haunted by the ghost of Frank Zappa. He also produces Nedcore Hip-Hop under the guise of DJ Skull Kid. If you're looking for a performance DJ who brings the creative energy of a rock-star, he's your man.

The culmination of 4 years of experimentation and a journey through a multitude of genres. A bunch of musicians from various musical backgrounds, intent on creating musical voyages for everyone. An unlikely bunch though they may be, with their differing taste and style, these very same differences have brought Black Lightbulb together as a band and they are ready to forge their own voyage and open your ears to their original blend of fusion.

With influences ranging from Snarky Puppy, Toto, Rush, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Dream Theatre, RHCP and Porcupine Tree all the way to Tower Of Power, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Ella Fitzgerald, RHCP, Jimi Hendrix Exp. and Jamiroquai, they aren't afraid to carve their own niche in the market. Playing music without limitations and borders, the only way to know them, is to just sit back and soak in the journey, be it live or anywhere else.

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Black Lightbulb are : 

Raja Farouk. Multi-talented strings smith. Plays anything in front of him. Tackles any style but calls Rock his missus. Regular Sessionist for bands and artists around KL. Do not let his innocent face fool you. Being one of the most sought after and dynamic guitarist in Malaysia, Farouk can take you on a whirlwind of sound with his guitar. From atmospheric montages to heavy hard hitting shredding to beautiful ballads to funky groovy notes, be mesmerized as he takes the stage.

Zaim Zaidee. Award winning bassist (2nd place. Best Rock Group-Curtis Blues Review. Voize Independent Music Awards 2008). Self taught professional musician from 2001 playing with the likes of Ash Nair, Faizal Tahir, Russel Curtis, Prema Yin, Tilu, Jamal Abdillah, Ning Baizura, Datuk M Daud Kilau, Dato Jeffriedeen, Ramlah Ram and many many more. Regular feature at bars and pubs around KL. Always on the lookout for anything that intrigues his musical soul.


Ashwin Gobinath. Sticks are his weapons of sound. Music is his serenity. A keen sense of sound and arrangement led him to start playing drums and he hasn’t stopped. Playing professionally in bars, pubs and gigs in Penang and KL since 2007, he combines his love for music and performing with his passion for audio engineering and production by finding new and innovative ways of composing and recording music. Having played with many musicians and artists over the years, notably VIMA Song of the year award winner Bihzhu, he is now a regular in the independent scene and is determinedly paving his way through the KL scene.

Malaysian Songwriter-Guitarist Ray Cheong is a true artist who choose to do things differently; holding to what he adamantly believed in keeping music to its purest form, Ray Cheong certainly did just that. Rather than having his first album made with sophisticated recording maneuvers, he had made in London. 
Having that, he released two albums, Ray Cheong Live in London and Ray Cheong Trio live at No Black Tie.

Influenced mainly by acoustic heroes such as John Mayer and John Butler Trio, Ray Cheong prefers to market his music his way and not let the industry put a label on it. He has accompanied and opened for notable artistes such as Pixie Lott(UK), Tommy Emmanuel(AUS/US), Adam Rafferty(US), Farid Ali(MY), Az Samad(MY), Nadhira(MY), Salam Musik(MY), Azmyl Yunor(MY), David Knight(US), Narmi(MY) and many other musicians, local and interntional.
