i hope u all enjoy my new track.. i shot a video in a warehouse in downtown LA 2 days after i arrived over a year ago but the footage came out unusable. i always felt like i owed it to that place to finish the job. so we went back down there and re shot these scenes.  didnt want to shoot a professional dance routine or choreography, i wanted to shoot how normal people feel and move.. i wanted it to be natural..  music i hope you like my new video and track.  J

If you’ve followed Dirtybird for a while, then you’re surely aware of Sacha Robotti. He’s graced the label several times the past 5 years, but often with a collaborator-Kill Frenzy, Kevin Knapp, Justin Jay, Look Like, etc. 

“Melato Nina” is Sacha’s first solo EP with us and both tracks are filled with emotion, appropriately so. The title track continuously builds around the haunting synth melody and the subdued vocals of Tauon, while the melodic “Low Key Goddess” contrasts the extremes of light & dark sounds to culminate in two brilliant pieces of music.

Originally part of a small crop of American artists inspired by dubstep, garage, grime, jungle and other ‘nuum sounds, Kastle has transitioned through multiple aesthetic iterations since he burst into the popular consciousness 8+ years ago. The past year saw him re-focus his idiosyncratic lens on his roots of UKG and put out several tracks that received regular rotation on radio and many DJs top charts. Whether it was the instant cult classic "4 Real", the collaborations with Mind Of A Dragon, or his remixes for legends like Scott Diaz and AC Slater.

With that momentum we are happy to present "Get Right Inside", a compilation hand selected and mixed by Kastle as he continues to explore garage musics timeless sounds with hints of UK funky that perfectly fit the vibe. Half of the album is exclusive and brand new, a testament to the artists dedication to new sounds and building his own unique world.

The mix kicks off on a low-key vibe with tracks from On1 and Duncan Powell, both a bit ethereal and subtle in their details. We quickly get into an exclusive from Kastle himself, with a vocal number featuring Olivia-Louise & SAZ. As the mix rolls on it gets into some dusty bits from Exit99 and Opus -- a classic sound but still forever in the present moment. Shortly after Higgo's smooth "Interlude" the mix transitions into a few UK funky numbers from some of the best: Roska, Leda Stray, High Class Filter and Ozwald. This allows for a nice transition into some 4x4 from Tuff Culture before ending the mix on the 2-step vibe with ZeroFG's remix of "Darkside" and Cellardore's exclusive, "Get Right Inside", which you will recognize as the namesake for the album -- a nod to the compilers interest and focus on using music to affect positive psychological change inside our minds. Finally, we've got a special Kastle remix of Mind Of A Dragon's "L.T.T.M." featuring Shantie before we close out with Four40’s very own Conrad Glimpse

It's always a thrill for us to see the Four40 imprint make a return to releasing as they here unveil three tracks of UKG inspired fire from the Scunthorpe based sounds of Deadly Habitz. We begin this one with some fragrant flare as 'Circles' kicks off the EP with a soulful punch, working smooth vocals in amongst skippy garage drums and fluttering subs. 'Rumours' follows with a more stripped back structure, still packing some serious weight with its subtle bass pressure however. Finally we take a dive into 'Chemical Love' which rounds up the 'Black & Blue' EP in style, using spacey atmospheric and wooden sounding percussive stabs to bring a real sense of space to the table.

Birmingham’s Royal Flush presents a bopping house-inspired UKG number with ‘Cut Ties’. Jutting chords run through the body; surrounded by a weighty, swinging, groove. When the keys spill themselves all over the track later on the components come together in full force.
