1Forty has a healthy list of Midlands artists spanning across Grime and Funky, but one genre we haven’t seen a Midlands based producer on yet is Bass. Step forward 21 year old Tenshu. Having started making music 5 years ago he now has a signature sound ready to show off to the world. Tenshu initially got his foot on the ladder in Leicester, having being one of the stand out residents for one of the UK’s biggest promoters - Beastwang. He has grown alongside the Beastwang brand and gone on to become one of their biggest assets opening the stage for a whole range of A List artists such as Shy FX, Redlight, DJ Zinc, Conducta and loads more over the course of the past 2 years. This has also led him to feature at Forbidden Forest and their biggest project yet - Forbidden 42.

Earlier this year Beastwang announced the Label arm - Wang Records. Their debut release was from none other than their #1 Resident - Tenshu. This release along with his recently released ‘Storyteller’ Ft My Nu Lengs front man Dread MC has led him to gain support from My Nu Leng themselves, Bushbaby, Sammy Virji, Zero & more. Taking a lot of inspiration from house, garage, breaks and techno you can hear the authenticity and originality in Tenshu’s music making him one to watch for 2020.

Without taking the gas off the pedal, Tenshu treats us to another one of his productions showcasing a bass-ier style. Travelling through tempos and styles he really isn't one to to be put into a box. 'Inside The Ride' hits the balance of being a bass tune without being offensive to the ear to hit that sweet spot. As he takes a clear influence from speed garage for a rolling bassline, it'd be interested to see how this sound develops in the future of dance music with Tenshu being at the forefront of it.
