Und mal unter uns, Nick, konntest du das denen nicht ausreden? Nicht? Naja, halb so schlimm. Und vor allem macht die Betitelung in Zusammenhang mit dem Foto auf dem Cover erst Sinn: Da ist unser aller Liebling George W. Bush zu sehen. Und: Die nächste Platte ist auch schon im Kasten und wird den unverfänglichen Titel "Dis-Connected" tragen. Für Wanker jedenfalls bedeuten die zehn Songs hier eher ungewohnte Klänge, würde ich die Musik von ONE WAY DOWN doch ganz unverfänglich und wertfrei als Alternative Rock bezeichnen, eher in den frühen Neunzigern verorten als im Hier und Jetzt. DINOSAUR JR behauptete meine Liebste eben heraushören zu können, ich sehe da so gewisse Parallelen zu NIRVANA, was rundum positiv gemeint ist, an anderer Stelle wird großen Helden des US-Rocks wie Bruce Springsteen und Neil Young gehuldigt, doch im Grunde ihres Herzens sind ONE WAY DOWN schmutzige, kleine Punker. Und die trauen sich sogar an ein Cover von Marleys "Redemption song" ran. Gewagt, aber geglückt. Und man kennt offensichtlich die richtigen Leute, hatte als Produzenten solch Koryphäen wie Sergie Chavez, Paul Miner und Paul Kostabi zur Hand. 1998 in Salzhausen von Robert Müller, Simon Heinrich und Michael Jost gegründet, spielten sich FuzzBeer zunächst durch verschiedene Musikrichtungen wie Stoner Rock und Punk'n'Roll, bis ca. 2005 der Einfluss von Hardcore dominierten Punkrock zunahm, welchen sie bis heute noch verfeinern. Schnell gespielter Punk ist spätestens seit Eintritt des Schlagzeugers Gilbert B. eines der Markenzeichen der Band.

Seit Anfang 2007 gehört FuzzBeer zu Wanker Records (www.wanker-records.de).

Seit anderthalb Jahrzenten unterwegs in Sachen „Countrybillyswamprock“. „Zwischen Hank Williams  und Bo Diddley passt noch George Jones und Gun Club“, so könnte die musikalische Marschroute der glorreichen Sechs lauten. 2015 wird das mittlerweile fünfte Album aufgenommen und neben den berüchtigt krachigen und rocklastigen Gigs werden auch vermehrt  Akustik- Sets zu sehen sein.
„Same mistakes again“ ist extra für diesen Sampler geschrieben und aufgenommen worden und eins der bisher wenigen HMJ Songs der von Bo Hatzfeld gesungen wird. Kein Wunder er hat´s auch geschrieben.

One Way Down is a post-hardcore rock band that formed in late 1996 under the name decepticans. Chris Ekstedt started the band to have a resource to let out some nervous energy. The name "decepticans" was taken from a French slang for liars. "We changed the name because so many people wanted to not spell it correctly and I was tired of being related to the fucking TV cartoon, also the old name was when we were kids. One Way Down's more mature and I don't feel like an idiot with the name" - said Chris Ekstedt. They have shared the stage with bands such as L.A. Guns, Gilby Clarke, Taken, Snapcase, Stretch Armstrong and Social Distortion. Most recently they completed their first European tour with Wanker Records (the German Record Label) and Al Cheapo (punk band from Germany)

Between 1998 and 2002 and under the guise of Decepticans, there was a drop off in activity from the band. Not a lot of interest lead to many changes in the band.

Randomly, while doing work for Buddyhead Records, Paul Kostabi contacted Chris Ekstedt to see if there was a band that would fit on a "B Side" of a band he is working with The Willowz. Mr. Kostabi fell in love with One Way Down's music and signed him to his label Artmonkey Records

After enlisting the help of Producer Paul Kostabi (The Ramones, The Willowz, The Shewolves, Youth Gone Mad), One Way Down immediately began re-recording and re-mastering Decepticans album "No Holding Back" into what has become a popular CD called "Scheisse" with new cover tracks of "I Am A Patriot" by Steve Van Zandt, "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley and "Indifference" by Pearl Jam.

Recorded in the Summer of 2005, One Way Down recorded four more tracks for a split CD with Al Cheapo for the European tour called "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”. One Way Down tracks include "Redundant", "Ignition", "Side By Side" and "Liars & Backstabbers". The much anticipated disc saw the bands paranoid urgency and schizophrenic dynamics emerge. “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” is proof that One Way Down have the ability to mature and continue to grow as artists.
