Hailing from Voronezh in Russia’s Southwest he pays homage to the golden age of electro with his raw analogue style that has been supported by the likes of Helena Hauff, Marcel Dettman, Djedjotronic & Dave Clarke to name a few.

Our next podcast takes us for the very first time to the Belarussian capital to meet Valeria Buturlya. An artist who started in the music universe at an early age through choreographing, and after 15 years of stage dancing, she broke into the electronic music scene playing breakbeat and electro under the name of Tendresse Rage (@tendresserage). That background has a noteworthy impact on her conceptualization of music being her mixes remarkably kinetic, physical, and overall ideal for the dancefloor. This N2MU 45th podcast is an electro journey that offers a variety of approaches to the genre, from more delicate perspectives and melodic passages to a far more robotic view full of vocoders elegantly progressing to a  much darker and powerful spectrum. Bio & TL:

Mariska’s approach to music production is intuitive and unconventional. Instead of following a fixed genre or format, her music serves to express her inner world in a dreamy and playful way. 

Heavily influenced by elektro, Detroit Techno and IDM of the nineties (think Drexciya, Plaid, Orbital, …), this results in a quite emotive and melodic electronic sound. The atmospheres she creates have a sometimes slightly ominous undertone, yet are filled with optimism and a hint of nostalgia. 

Starting producing at the age of 18, she was quickly discovered by DJ Stingray through Myspace in 2009. This lead to her first release of her track Insolitology on Planet E, as a part of the Urban Tribe collective. She has also released tracks on Bleep 43, Semantica, and more recently HC Records, BAOX and Electro Records.

Que nos flipa a nosotros el snare ahí, con sus muchas cosas alrededor, inventándose de nuevo y reinventado a quien lo goza. 

Hace ya tiempo que es oficial, el electro está de moda, y eso tiene sus cosas buenas y sus cosas malas. De entre las buenas es que oye, es más fácil que antes escuchar robots al secuenciador en clubs y sesiones, que siempre gusta, la mala, es que entre tal volumen de stock se diluyen las auténticas joyas que dan dieron y darán el poso de musicón que siempre ha tenido esta manera de entender la electrónica... 

Que cosas, los trackazos que merecen la pena ser comprados, bailados, pinchados y por ende de todo escuchados, vienen, as usual, de los rinconcitos más escondidos de las cubetas, de los home estudios menos likeados y de sellos que heroicamente luchan a diario por sacar música fuera del protocolo que dicta la terrorista moda, combatiendo la absurda abundancia con la segura calidad que dota la ilusión por encima del comercio.

En este EM bajamos tantos estratos hagan falta para encontrar esos temas que en el último año nos han hecho levantar la barbilla y han encendido las piloerecciones de quien sesga.
