Danish producer and DJ Kasper Bjørke just released his balearic and 90s dream house infused studio album “Sprinkles” this summer - and now Kasper has invited a bunch of exciting artists from around the world to remix some of the tracks taken from the album. 

Swedish rising star Storken (the man behind the synth banger “Lille Vals” on Running Back) expands “Kites” in his Retro Jungle Mix, reimagining the airy Balearic flute tune, into a proper party jam 
with shuffling drums and his signature synthesizer themes. 

Italy’s duo Phunkadelica (Correspondant, Exploited) brings a different take on “Biarritzs” shuffling drums, with a newfound Kraftwerk vibe and futuristic undertones. 

All the way from New Zealand, hot stuff producer Eden Burns has remixed “Running”, enhancing it with italo sounds and disco lasers. 
Germany’s iconic Roman Flügel transports “Baybi” onto the main floor while twisting the tongue in cheek synthetic saxophone theme. 
One of the finest frontrunners on the British rave scene 1-800 Girls, has crafted a celestial remix of “Glassy”, where tingling emotional textures serve as the glue holding everything together. 

“Mirage” was already one of the most upbeat tracks on “Sprinkles”- but Boys’ Shorts (Vangelis (LAGASTA) and Tareq) have turned it into an explosive dance anthem.

Finally, the young, Copenhagen based DJ, producer and label owner Prom Night has done a eclectic and tropical percussion infused take on “Grace” that many selectors will find to be a perfect opener for any given night... 

If “Sprinkles” is fitting for an afternoon poolparty, “Sprinkles Nite Mixes” thrives when the lights go down and club fills with strobe lights, smoke, and beautiful strangers, eager to celebrate life. Even though only half of the tracks from the original album are remixed here, the running time is doubled and the vibe entirely anew, making this a full-fledged LP release from one of Scandivanias finest exports in electronic music. 

Sprinkles Nite Mixes will be out November 12th, just as people are finally back on the dance floors.

@HADE from Cologne is a great DJ with a huge knowledge about every kind of music.

OYE´s @Delfonic met HADE the first time at the Splash Festival and after that in Cologne at the collage radio station.

Paper Recordings' Ben Davis takes off his Flash Atkins cape and mask to launch a new project exploring things left of centre and balearic.

In these disposable times, Stubb will celebrate community and DIY with a limited run of 300 vinyl screen-printed kraft card sleeves of commissioned illustrations by artist Rachel Johns plus hand-drawn labels by Hebden Bridge's The Egg Factory.

We Are Launching is a journey in to psychedelic balearica with one of the most exciting artists of recent years, Jane Weaver. Her Mercury Music Prize long-listed album Modern Kosmology was described by The Guardian as 'a lean and thrillingly addictive slice of unearthly pop'. The Stubb collaboration is sublime head trip to the deep reaches of space and electronica with hallucinatory guitars, burbling synths and arpeggiators that are beautifully set off by Jane's ethereal vocals.

Mike Lindsay is founder and producer of folktronica pioneers Tunng and his distinctive tones sing the praises of doing nothing on Boring Days, which is psychedelic leftfield pop at it's finest. The track is locked down by a nagging fifth bass with vocal pops, hand claps, muted afro guitar, washed synths and arps that build before the choruses hit in a wave of analogue keyboards and fuzz guitar. After that, a gloriously stretched outro takes you straight to the mediterranean.

There's also an edited instrumental that brings out the sunshine.

For its second release of 2018, Days Of Being Wild welcomes London duo Super Drama.
What strikes us immediately with “Affected Elegance” is Super Drama’s taste for an analog and rough production - the tracks have a “straight to tape” live feel far from the carefully computer constructed productions you tend to hear these days. There is a rough and ready attitude to their new wave and Italo tinted sound, with disco bass-lines and DX7 pads and bells melodies.
The title track could easily be an 1986 New Order b-side with its balearic pads, disco bass line and “Blue Monday” kick, while “Hausu” with its female vocals and retro drum machines sounds like a forgotten Italo instrumental mix. Black Rose follows in the same vein of twisted disco noir with its pitched down voice over a pulsing bass line. Closing the EP, we find old pal Kiwi remixing “Affected Elegance”. Kiwi keeps in with the old school electronic disco vibe but brings his own unique style of modernity taking the track to stratospheric disco heights, stripping down to its core to build it back to an emotional climax.

Warm return with a very special Record Store Day release in the form of a remix 12” from three of their favourite producers interpreting their favourite tracks from Warm’s first signing to the label, Face + Heel. 

Tuff City Kids bring the heat with their pop disco infused piano led infusion that they have become legendary for over the past years. One might say the remix kings! Inspired by Warm’s final party on the boat at Love International in Croatia.

I:Cube, the french master steps in with his unmissable production levels and will be sure to make any dance floor turn into a hysteria of heads down and wiggling hips. Haunting vocals sweeping over a groove like no other with the kick to add some added spice.

Finally newcomer Elliott Lion steps up with his own slow burning acidified disco audio gold. Having made waves with his recent debut on Cin Cin he now steps up with his own twist which is sure to solidify the buzz on this newcomer.

In October 2018 DJ Rocca and Almunia member Leo Ceccanti joined forces to deliver “Rhythm Collision”, a three-track EP of jangling, sun-kissed grooves, psychedelic dub disco and Afro-Cosmic flavours on Really Swing. 18 months on, one of that set’s standout cuts has been given a new lease of life courtesy of fellow Italian producer Alessandro Pasini AKA Deep 88.

Since making his debut a decade ago, Pasini has earned a reputation as one of house music’s understated heroes – an artist whose hardware driven, retro-futurist take on deep house tends towards the timeless, melodic and atmospheric. With a deep love of turn-of-the-90s dream house, Larry Heard productions and sun-baked chords, his dancefloor-focused productions have often been called Balearic.

It’s perhaps fitting then that his reworks of Rocca and Cecanti’s “Ever Changing Bubbles” are as Balearic as they come. His “Balearic Mix” sets the tone, with Pasini layering trippy, dubbed-out and ear-catching elements – Ceccanti’s eyes-closed electric guitar solos, jangling acoustic guitar chords, warm dub disco bass, echoing spoken word samples, fluttering flute solos, drowsy organ motifs and the pair’s delay-heavy vocals – atop a crunchy, head-nodding, live style beat. While it deviates from the duo’s original version, it inhabits a similar sonic space – albeit in a more dancefloor-friendly way.

Pasini excels himself on the accompanying “Balearic Dub”, stripping the cut back to its raw essentials – drums, metronomic bass –while toughening up the percussion and adding delay-laden instrumental snippets. It’s warm, woozy and otherworldly, with echoing voices, tactile musical motifs and restless delay trails combining to create a suitably hazy and intoxicating mood. By the time the touchy-feely flute and acoustic guitars begin to dance across the sound space, you’ll be lost in the groove and too happy to notice.
