Home recording of a song I wrote about my step dad who passed away last year. When I were but a wee lad, we took a camping trip to Carnac in France where I locked the keys in the car. There were many tears as Mum was so angry, so when it was all sorted, my step dad took me to play boules to calm down. In Carnac there are ancient standing stones. One of the legends is that they were hauled there for family members that had died, so I thought it apt to combine the two.

Touted as an act to follow on BBC Introducing in Newcastle, Warrilow plays what he calls ghost-folk: music inspired by trad folk, story-telling traditions and poetry. His songs are built around atmosphere, which he creates with melodic, fingerpicked playing on a classical guitar handmade by a relative, and metrical lyrics ringing with the sounds of Nick Drake, renewed with Crosby, Stills and Nash harmonies and Wild Beast driven rhythms.
