(under)water music [disquiet0634]

"Nostromo revisited" is a sound atmosphere inspired by some room tones and the spaceship of the movie "Alien". The original Nostromo that I have just revisited was uploaded to freesound (https://freesound.org/people/fectoper/sounds/59/) just after its opening, back in 2005. That file has been downloaded thousands of times, and has been included in games, videos, music tracks, etc. I created this kind-of room tone with my JD-800 synthesizer, around 1993. Here I have extended its duration and added some layers, depth and processing.

An Addiction (disquiet0707)

Recordings of the BART, recorded in San Francisco's Powell Street Station, manipulated with AudioThing's Noises, then modulated repeatedly using Cableguys' Shaperbox. All the Shaperbox modulations used  the barcode from a packet of Walker's Shortbread Fingers to define the gates. These, depending on the effect, are then stretched between 1/16 and 32 bars.

This is posted for future reference. This audio is believed to be recorded music from an advanced civilization on an unknown planet. It was captured sometime in 2126, and transmitted back to Earth from a deteriorating research drone many years ago. Unfortunately, since Earth no longer exists, humans have never heard it.

Lost Transmission [disquiet0718]

Disquiet Junto Project 0718: Planet Jam It. The Assignment: Record the sound of an advanced alien civilization.

This recording was made in 2126 as part of Krakenkraft Interstellar Inc.'s ARP (Audio Reconnaissance Program), and its significance is only now being fully understood. We are most probably hearing the dream singers of Yith, a mentally time-traveling civilization. Unfortunately, despite intensive AI efforts, the drone's engine noise could not be removed, for which they have apologized repeatedly. Unfortunately, we do not know what happened before and after radio contact was lost...
