A fiddle tune called Blackberry Blossum was one of the first tunes I wanted to learn on mandolin, though I came to like playing a little different than the traditional barn burner fiddle style...Many thanks to Rick Williams for providing mandolin tablature to learn by, also a big thank you to a Gal who's name I don't even know for sharing some great lyrics for the tune, and last but  not least my old pals Scott Kubala and Cary Riley for adding some tracks to collaborate with.
Though the version shared here is not 100% the outcome I was hoping for, it is definitely a 'marker' along my journey of musical, technological, collaboration and of course sharing progress...

This Joan Jett song was covered by the band during one of it's rehearsal sessions in the 1980's.  This time, however, the band had a female lead singer in tow and this cover seemed the most promising of the songs rehearsed.  No additional attempts were made, however,  to finalize the song after this rehearsal.  Featuring Cary Riley on background vocals. I Hate Myself For Loving You (Joan Jett cover)

A Midwestern garage band with origins in the mid '70's, combining classic rock sensibilities with alternative musical influences, performing in St. Louis and surrounding areas.  The group's identity took shape performing largely original compositions under the group's name, still unchallenged to date as the first band in the world performing as Wasted Grace.  The band's style likened to a seething of cauldron of musical influences, that would see their other distinctly Midwest peers branch off to the West coast to become "hair bands", and a later generation branching off into the classification of "grunge."  Featuring Mark Keklikian on bass, Scott Kubala on guitar, and Cary Riley on drums, with all contributing vocals and writing credits.  Kubala and Riley began working together with assorted other members as Wonderwall, and with the addition of guitarist John Huffstutler, and later, Keklikian, evolved into Red Dog.  With the departure of Huffstutler in the latter part of the decade, the band would continue as Wasted Grace with the primary trio, and the occasional extra guitarist.  Kubala would depart after 1980, with Keklikian and Riley working together with others as the Wasted Grace Rhythm and Blues Review.  The group steadily maintained a modest, but enthusiastic following during it's tenure throughout the years.
