The Grand Station – Oversize the Oversized

Oversize the Oversized är The Grand Stations stora skattkista – en samlingsplatta som samlar upp allt det där som annars riskerar att gå förlorat i tidens brus. Här finns demos, alternativa mixar, outtakes och experimentella tagningar från bandets olika perioder, sånt som ofta bara bandmedlemmar och de närmast sörjande fått höra tidigare.

Det är en resa genom bandets historia bakom kulisserna: de första trevande versionerna av låtar som senare blev fanfavoriter, råa liveinspelningar med all sin energi och oförutsägbarhet, samt udda experiment som visar på bandets kreativitet när studion förvandlades till lekplats.

Titeln Oversize the Oversized är en blinkning till att allt fått plats – här är det maxat, storslaget och kompromisslöst. Skivan ger både en dokumentär känsla för trogna fans och nya ingångar för den som vill upptäcka The Grand Station från ett annat håll.

WASTELAND ROCKS is a female fronted heavy metal band from Ålesund, Norway. Founded in 2004 the five members started out as a tribute band with the mission to serve their fans the «best heavy metal of all ages».

Main influences are heavy metal and thrash bands from 1970s to 1990s like Black Sabbath, Accept, Metallica, Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Anthrax to name a few.

Wasteland Rocks’ popular cover versions of classics like «Heaven and Hell» by Black Sabbath, «Mr Crowley» by Ozzy, «Perfect Strangers» by Deep Purple, «The Wicker Man» by Iron Maiden, «Holy Diver» by Dio and «Living after Midnight» by Judas Priest show the band’s versatility and have been played more than 3 million times on SoundCloud so far.

In May 2010 Wasteland Rocks headlined the Friday show at the Harley Davidson Federation SuperRally 2010 in Patras, Greece as the only non-greek band.

The band has shared festival stages with some great artists like Nazareth, Black Star Riders, Stage Dolls, Titanic, The Carburetors and Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep).
