Oliver Ackermann of A Place to Bury Strangers twists Wah Together’s “Sayonara” into a brutalist metaphysical pretzel of melody and noise with a new remix out Friday, December 31.
 
“Sayonara (APTBS Remix)” casts Wah Together in a foundation of concrete and wrought iron with unrelenting industrial rhythms and brain-busting time-lapse fuzz guitar. And although Ackermann pushes Wah Together to the brink of collapse in a cacophony of post-punk power electronics, Jaiko Suzuki’s voice emerges unscathed, its sweetly skewed melody intact.
 
Wah Together’s debut LP Let’s Wah Together arrives March 4, 2022—only on Dedstrange.
