Here is my very first mix that I was allowed to record for the great Ashore crew in January 2019. 
This set means a lot to me. It shows where it all started and that's why I want to share it with you.

"Ich bin Rena Volvo und komme aus Berlin.  
Ich hab im Sommer 2018 mit dem Plattenspielen angefangen und hatte das Glück gleich zu Beginn im Monarch am Kotti spielen zu dürfen. Mein Homie Marian Tone von Wedding Soul hatte mich dazu eingeladen und so entstand unsere gemeinsame Partyreihe SUA ONDA. 
Hauptsächlich digge ich Discomusik aus aller Welt, habe aber eine Vorliebe zu den 80ern. Der größte Teil meiner Platten besteht wohl aus Italo-Disco und so kam es, dass ich euch auch ein reines Italo-Set mitgebracht habe. Ich liebe an dem Genre den Kitsch und dass sich die Leute in der Szene nicht so übertrieben ernst nehmen, sondern die gemeinsame gute Zeit im Vordergrund steht. Ich bin so dankbar und glücklich da reingerutscht zu sein. 

Eine meiner ersten Scheiben war Witch von Helen, der Track mich total weggeblasen. Diese Energie und dieser massive Sound der einen einfach überrollt und mit so wundervollen Gefühlen und so viel Power füllt. Das macht mich einfach süchtig. 
Ich hoffe ihr habt Spaß beim Hören und ich sag: Ciao e Grazie ragazzi ;)

Ich finde es super, dass sich die Zeiten ändern und sich immer mehr weibliche Djs am Geschehen beteiligen. Natürlich ist das auch so, weil sich das von Männern dominierte Business verändert hat, die Nachfrage nach Female Artists da ist und die Zeit einfach auch nach Veränderung schreit. Dennoch ärgere ich mich darüber, wenn ich angefragt werde, weil unbedingt noch 'ne Frau ins Line Up soll. Das ist für mich irgendwie der falsche Weg. Ich hab keinen Bock das Quotenweibchen zu spielen, ich will gebucht werden weil die Leute meinen Sound feiern."

Start your week right with this mix by Gramigna. An all-Italian excursion into dancefloor obscurities from the late 70s and early 80s. Gramigna remembers being obsessed with records since the tender age of 10 when he first got his way into his parents' collection and has been collecting ever since. He self identifies as a "nerd" who cleans every single record after each DJ set - a quality we surely wish we saw more often amongst record collectors and DJs today, who love to pull records out of their sleeves squeezing the first grooves of the records with their dirty greasy fingers like they're a fish or something.
We hope you enjoy this 1 hour and a half of delightfully thick research, thick as a slice of mozzarella di bufala campana in the deepest valleys of Lazio. Thank you Gramigna for this precious mix, to the highest standards of Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita (DOCG) ❤️

25th mix in our series was a long one in the making! But the wait was well worth it! 

@sankywashere delivers a wonderful music lover's dream mix made of Soft Rock, Classical, Balearic, Psych Folk, Israeli Jazz Rock, 80's, Italo, Boogie and what not! A couple of exclusives in there and some stuff to set the shazamers off...! 

Sankywashere has willingly no social media presence, you can find him only on Soundcloud. He plays at Love International in Croatia and We Out Here, Gilles Peterson's Festival.

Originally from Newcastle, he moved to New York 10 years ago, and moved just recently to LA. Currently curating a new museum in London that just opened up. www.twistmuseum.com

Sanky has spent a lot of his life in dusty bins full of records looking for sounds that were less than successful at the time. Coming from the north of England, he grew up on rare soul and jazz and found a deep connection to the most special of formats, the 7”, which is most of what he collects nowadays. "I'm a George" he says, "if that makes sense for anyone... good music growing up all around..." 

As a long-term Mancuso's Loft Party fanatic, he has been influenced to let records play longer and drift around to hopefully create a feeling and not just a ‘set’. "The mix is for us to escape together to a remote villa on a warm night with good friends and listen to the whispers of the musical past. And of course all ID’s welcome as per usual, music is for sharing." 

"It was my 50th this year and there are a few records on there that remind me of good times spent through the year, mainly the 2 weeks in Ibiza that a few of these tunes soundtracked... and this also covers the widest time span of any mix I've done as it goes back to Holst and the 19th Century... been hunting the 1st tune for years, so it's a coming together of 50 years of listening."

AXEL H & CAO BRAVO presents: El Mundo de Quilca

Peru, a country with a rich geographic and cultural diversity, is mostly known to the international music community as the epicenter of cumbia and its psychedelic variants. Unknown to most, a handful of groups have experimented with sounds related to disco and synth-pop in the 80s that were unpopular at the time and thus have mostly been forgotten over the years. 

@axelhaxel (@kitchensessions_int), an epidemiologist and collector residing in Lima, has spent the last 6 years digging records in Quilca, a small and dusty gallery in the center of Lima with improvised vinyl stalls, as well as sourcing records from elsewhere across Peru.

Sharing a common interest to explore Peruvian "Disco" output, Axel has teamed up with @caobravo, a surgeon and well-respected record collector across Latin America, to record “El Mundo de Quilca” a vinyl-only mix of neglected and often impossible-to-find Peruvian disco gems, exploring a variety of different styles, moods, and energy levels. 

Some of the tracks in this mix will be featured in an upcoming compilation to be released in early 2023 on @buhrecords, a Peruvian label run and curated by Luis Alvarado, who has provided valuable insights into this mix.

Marco is a tireless digger, encompassing many, if not all genres and has a long history of presenting great mixes to the world.
