Following on from a series of reissues to celebrate the relaunch of Detroit’s Motor City Electro Company, a label headed by Detroit’s Filthiest (aka Julian Shamou, otherwise known as DJ Nasty), he now returns with his first original produced record on MCEC in 10 years.

For those not in the know, Detroit's Filthiest made the music headlines when the platinum selling UK house dons, Disclosure sampled his ‘Pass Out’ track for their ‘Bang That’ release, taken from their highly successful ‘Caracal’ album.

‘Detroit vs. Everybody’ starts the New Year with a bang, laying the foundation to the new underground sound of Detroit. On the original version, anthem inspired vocals infuse the Techno and lets the crowd know that when you see Detroit coming, you’ll be like “ahh ohh”!

The release also features an instrumental version where the music takes centre stage and shines a light on it’s blend of Detroit Techno, tough beats and a hint of that slowed-down Ghetto Tech vibe.

Following ‘Detroit vs Everybody’ and ‘Shake It Baby’, Detroit's Filthiest’s third new single of 2016 is his latest anthem. ‘Layaway’ gives a shout out to all the material girls who are living in a material world. Love is not free or cheap and if you want this Booty, you better buy some luxury.

‘Layaway’ is four-to-the-floor with a classic Ghettotech styling, featuring back and forth vocals on its original version. Alternatively (as with previous releases) there’s an instrumental, which highlights the Tech in Ghettotech.

This is raw, underground Detroit groove from one of the city’s leading lights.
