Crossfrontier Audio are proud to announce the label debut of the delectable and trouble-causing duo of Hacker & Miethig, with the Sambal EP.  Finding a lease of life through their music, their journey so far has seen exquisite releases on the eye-catching Poesie Musik and the hallmark Save Us Records – so we jumped at the chance to welcome them to the CFA family.

Tightly woven from head to toe, Hacker & Miethig craft dark room music to lose yourself to, and the EP definitely doesn't shy away from the deep and lustrous sounds they've been tunnelling away in the studio creating just for you - giving us two original works: Sambal and Djahe. We've also got a special guest remixing the title track...

Take your pick from the trembling synths and hypnotic rhythm that Sambal roars in, or set the pace with the trippy vibes of Djahe - both of these have been making a lot of noise, absolutely killing it when brought into the mix. When you've listened to both, you'll understand why Hacker & Miethig are gaining a mischievous reputation across the dance-floors of the world, all the while having a good time with it. 
By now, if you haven't heard of Jonas Saalbach, what the hell have you been doing? His remix of Sambal is the catalyst to a raucous moment and you know it... from the second the punches come in, the crisp production on this is magic. Bring on the summer.

Romanian Native BOg makes welcomed return to Watergate Records, joining forces with LKF Project for new EP ‚Her Song‘. 

With a string of releases on some of electronic music’s most compelling labels including Crosstown Rebels, Bedrock and Diynamic, BOg has steadily forged his reputation as one to watch. Following his input to the ‚Watergate 25 – Adana Twins‘ compilation with ‚Tribelune‘, BOg returns to Watergate Records, this time teaming up with exciting new vocal-led outfit LKF Project who have already made waves with a release on Agoria’s Sapiens imprint.

‚Her Song‘ is driven by the sombre, ambient vocals of the LKF Project, underpinned by its undulating bassline. It ebbs and flows, gradually culminating to deliver a satisfying dancefloor moment. The dynamic Dub version of ‚Her Song‘ sees the track’s energy intensified, propelled forward by its intricate layers and breakbeats. The EP concludes with ‚Discrete Class‘, both rolling and introspective, it perfectly fuses the groove of house with the asceticism of techno, a sound that BOg’s signature style lends him to.

The Italian-born, classically trained DJ and producer Francesca Lombardo makes her first appearance on Poker Flat with a double tracker entitled 'Flumen'. 

Lombardo has forged a unique path for herself in underground circles, building up a formidable back catalogue of tracks and enviable performances at some of the best party locations in the world. Here, she demonstrates her mastery at the controls with two tracks that riff on the theme of water, and how rivers move through time and space. 

'Flumen' flows hypnotically, a thick beat that provides the basis for the ominous, unpredictable melodic flourishes around the edges. 

'Psycho', as the name suggests, brings things to a climax, a rushing, powerful surge of tech house that ramps up the tension via interwoven synth lines and bubbling bass pulses.

No.19 Music welcomes back long-time associate Louie Fresco for a first solo EP since 2014, with standout remixes from Bas Ibellini and Shaun Reeves making this another fantastic package.

Fresco debuted on this label in 2012, and since then has served up the essential Autophobia album in 2014 and two further EPs. After a couple of quiet years, the Mexican tastemaker is back with more of his hard to categorise house and tech tunes, once again bringing plenty of quality to the table.

Fantastic opener ‘Black Wax’ is a heavyweight deep house tune with swirling pads and edgy stabs. A muffled vocal adds an old school feel and this one really builds the mood nicely. 'Aliens (Black Wax Pt.2)’ is another super fresh offering, this time with a slinky, futuristic and upbeat tech feel that has a spaced out vibe and killer bassline. The excellent ‘Between Boroughs’ then layers up punchy broken beat patterns with romantic sax lines and crisp hits into a timeless house track perfect for intimate clubs who like their music to have a real sense of heart.

First to remix ‘Black Wax’ is Bas Ibellini, the Tuskegee and Crosstown Rebels artist and founder of the Peculiar party. His version is filled with subtle tension, leggy drums and deep looping bass that keeps on pulling you in as the pressure mounts. Last of all, Visionquest man, Detroit tastemaker and key underground figure Shaun Reeves reworks the same track into something superbly deep and horizontal, with echoing hits and distant, spooky pads bringing a heady, cosmic feel.

These are five first class house tracks with a real sense of style.

Get Physical’s ACID LOVE Vol. 2 compilation is in the making for later this year, lovingly selected, edited and mixed once again by Roland Leesker, but before that comes a first teaser EP including a big Doorly remix of Phuture, a killer track from Morpei and an instrumental from Leesker himself.

The aim of the Acid Love compilations is in the title, and no such collection could possibly be complete without a track from the genre’s founding fathers, Phuture. It is the cross-genre specialist, festival headliner and sometime Radio 1 host Doorly who remixes the legendary Chicago band’s ‘Your Only Friend’ in arresting fashion to open up this EP. In the UK artist’s hands it becomes a low slung, sleazy jack track with raw, razor-sharp hi hats and gurgling 303 lines that will explode any dance floor, especially once the naughty original vocal line comes in.

Next up is Bolivian star Morpei, who is now based in LA and has established himself as a respected name having played to crowds all over North and South America. He’s hit the upper end of the Beatport Tech House charts with tunes on this label as well as Simma Black and Audiophile, and shows why here. His fantastic ‘Fisico’ is a warm, bass-driven roller with modulated acid lines that slowly but surely grow ever more wild and central, and make an indelible mark
in the process.

Lastly, long time studio talent Roland Leesker steps up with an instrumental of ‘Music Is Here.’ It’s a brilliantly playful cut with undulating acid lines and raw percussion that ride on top of fat kick drums and is sure to get the floor in raptures.

These are three terrific cuts that suggest Acid Love Vol. 2 is set to be another essential collection.

Dreamteam pairing of Defaultman and Sapurra collaborate on this highly impressive 3 tracker for Poker Flat Wax. The two have collaborated frequently before, and with this vinyl only release, the juices are really flowing. 
'Paperman' kicks things off - a slinky mid- tempo groover with an edge. The tight drums keep the rhythm ticking over while dub fx and a thick bassline add the drama and suspense. 
On the flip comes 'Groove Tutorial' - as fair a name as any when the programming is this good. The beat shuffles and chugs along, always staying fresh and interesting, while a minimal layer of other instrumentation adds depth. 
'Lessons Cost' rounds off the EP, a full jazzy-house excursion that showcases the producers’ wide ranging talents and ear for rhythmic excellence.

Dutch comrades Esteble are a duo of producers who remain impossible to categorize. The longtime friends and roommates share an innate sense of groove and melody, utilizing a diverse range of influences bred from their true musicianship. Whether jamming acoustically or producing surging electronic arrangements, Joep and Bram have proven their ability to capture the attention of dance music’s tastemakers time and time again.

The Rotterdam-base pair have appeared on behemoths such as Diynamic, Anjunadeep, Stil vor Talent. XYZ fans will be familiar with their eclectic remixes for Hosini and Budakid, as well as their recent work with Behrouz’s Do Not Sit. Esteble’s quality in the studio tells its own story, as the two are able to traverse genre boundaries to create stunning pieces that turn heads across the electronic spectrum. 

As we enter the spring months, albeit under precarious circumstances, we are ecstatic to welcome Esteble to the label in full with their Amazonica EP. The three track project flows along with a aire of calmness that is much needed in these unpredictable times, offering a respite from the craze.

To round out the project, Esteble pick up the pace with Vanuatu. A sturdy kick is complemented with swirling melodies. The progressive arrangement rises from the get-go, culminating in a deep and ominous moment. Brimming with a surging bassline, Vanuatu is most club-oriented of the bunch.

Esteble - Vanuatu [Snippet]

TAU is pleased to announce the return of Spanish prodigy Upercent to the label for his second EP release. The Valencia-based producer goes against the grain when it comes to creating electronic music, operating in his own zone and establishing a unique sonic fingerprint. His sound is instantly identifiable and has landed him releases with labels like Kompakt, microCastle, or Watergate. Now he’s back with the TAU family to deliver a selection of avant-garde freshness...

The EP begins with ‘Lupa Clup’, a menacing cut with a rolling rhythm at its core. Upercent gently teases in an eccentric melody that adds a lighter tone to the track and, before we know it, a fevered breakdown arrives to guide us into the booming second half.

‘Esser Conscient’ follows on with more pounding drums setting an ominous mood. A bright pad sweeps in adding an air of mystery, while Upercent gets busy with the percussion, as per usual. In the top layer a variety of keys and wind instruments stir up an emotionally-charged atmosphere before we enter the latter part of this cut, which is full of pulsating energy.

Then we have ‘Carta Oberta’ - an oscillating, rhythmic workout that will ensnare your mind within minutes. This one is pretty minimal, with considered arrangement and the kind of original percussion that Upercent has become renowned for. The track oozes character and takes you on a real journey. Inspired!

Next up is ‘Mentres Tant’ with its groaning bassline and whimsical effects. Once the beat kicks in you’ll be bopping your head uncontrollably. Again, there is just so much inventive flavour in this cut, such an original take on electronic music; there are piano keys, strange twisted vocal clips and an almighty breakdown.

For the digital crew there’s a bonus track, ‘Garba Derba’, which takes us deep into the realms of tribal drumming and undulating bass. A mes- merising female vocal adds a soulful element, while sharp piano stabs create tension. The energy builds steadily until there’s a break, allowing for time to reflect before we resume our connection with the ether...
