We are overjoyed to announce the next candidate for our label-catalogue after Kerri Chandlers "The Watergate Files" EP. New Watergate resident Matthias Meyer was recently added to our booking agency - his debut on Watergate Records is called "Becuz" and hereby it immediately answers every potential question.

The eponymous Track has the atmospheric density of an approaching storm front that discharges into epic organ- hooks and shredded vocals. Appropriate to that the B-side begins with "November Rain", a beat-driven techno- anthem with foggy synth-spheres and "closed eyes"-attitude. Mario Basanovs a.k.a. Ten Walls' interpretation has more contours and a percussive touch that keeps the mood of the original unchanged: November rain in a tropical rainforest. An astonishing EP with two great tracks and a wonderful remix. "Becuz" EP will be released on May 12th on vinyl and digital.

Maxxi Soundsystem Feat. Name One - Medicine (Original Mix)

Returning to the full-length format after their much-acclaimed 2012 album HOTEL AMOUR (KOMPAKT 248 CD 95), open band project TERRANOVA (aka DJ/Producer duo Fetisch & &ME) presents new magnum opus RESTLESS - a finely tuned succession of excitingly straightforward house bangers and a brilliant study in gravitational pull. Much like their previous releases, the album was produced in "liquid Terranova soundsystem" fashion - a smooth blend of instrumental and vocal tracks created with the help of old and new friends. For „Restless“, this global family of soul sisters and brothers includes CATH COFFEY, LYDMOR, BON HOMME, STEREO MCS and MANDEL TURNER - all revelling in the wholesome house lunacy that is Terranova's signature move. As the center of a cooperative consortium with shifting focal points, Fetisch & &ME have indeed amassed an imposing expertise in their open-minded approach to production, their cosmic grooves and the high-flying melodies.
Inspired by both interpersonal and interstellar travellings, RESTLESS couldn't have been named in a more appropriate manner, constantly propelling forward its protagonists without loosing the slightest ounce of momentum in between takeoffs. After the meticulously refined, panoramic patchwork of HOTEL AMOUR - which was mostly produced in Paris -, the new album was recorded from November 2014 through January 2015 in Berlin bedrooms and mixed in Keinemusik’s Wedding studio... and these ten cuts have a definitive Berlin flair to them. There's also no mercy for stalling vintage studio nerdism - with the band members taking pride in using banged-up, old laptops, keeping the album's bang-per-bucks sonics slinky and bendy.
Opener TELL ME WHY wastes no time with elaborate countdowns or some ambient pad dragging on - starting out with the characteristic vocals from Stereo MCs front man Rob Birch, the track immediately cuts to the chase with its well- pronounced rhythm section and a simple, but sturdy bass. As is the custom with TERRANOVA, the cameos don't end here - NY house agent provocateur Mandel Turner makes a well-intonated appearance on protofuturistic strobe manifesto UNDERVERSE (refering to a constellation of dark, new stars), while singer Cath Coffey performs on uncanny valley's national anthem TWISTED SOULS, again deploying her unique brand of anarchist logotherapy after last year's HEADACHE EP (KOMPAKT 296). With Bon Homme aka Tomas Høffding, another known collaborator takes a stand on RESTLESS SUMMER, a pinnacled reimagining of "Endless Summer" from the PAINKILLER EP (KOMPAKT 262) - less campfire and more wormhole, his lyrics take on an urgency unheard in the parent track. Tomas is also featured on SKIN & BONES, where he lands a flawless duet with partner in crime Lydmor - equally melancholic and muscular, this one is sure to become a crossover triumph on all sorts of bunfights.
From the sequenced beauty of GOLDILOCKS to the intuitive mayhem of WATCH ME or the ruggedness of house jam LABRADOR, the album is a quest for the outer rim of club culture, looking for habitable exoplanets beyond the main floor. This becomes nowhere as clear as on the appropriately named KEPLER 186F, both a tribute to NASA’s iconic Kepler project and a thrilling amalgamation of pounding drums and sharp synth stabs - the perfect soundtrack to the lumps and bumps of humanity's race to space. This larger-than-terrestrial-life journey finds a suitable conclusion in UCHŪ NO INU, translatable as "dog in space“: it's TERRANOVA's executive producer, driving force and guest vocalist Rocco (the choc labrador) who takes center stage here, lending his lyrical musings to a highly energizing cut and wrapping up the riveting listening experience that is RESTLESS - an ideal sonic companion for dance floors, living rooms and space pods alike.

La Fleur - Make A Move EP will be released on 12" vinyl and digital on October 19th!

The First Lady of Watergate, La Fleur, is back again with a massive three track EP titled 'Make A Move' and, in true La Fleur fashion, it bridges classic aesthetics with future concepts. By employing what is a uniquely La Fleur palette of sound, she has created three distinctly individual cuts resulting in the perfect recipe for brilliant and undeniably body shaking dance floor burners. 

Kicking things off is the title track 'Make A Move' and it hits hard. Vintage House hi-hats and top end percussion balance perfectly with a grand bassline that is as memorable as it is gripping. Descending tones, a sultry female vocal, and a long sustained string break up the constant borage of manic euphoria creating a timeless club tale that will never leave the DJ bag. 

Following the title track is another bomb eerily similar to the previous tune, but yet completely owning it's own identity. 'Just In Time' seamlessly balances the wash of lush pads as it canvases a rolling and unrelenting bassline as a looping female vocal circles the room slowly rearing itself and then quickly hiding again. Classic piano chord stabs and a ripping ride cymbal keep the track at full tilt as it ascends to full on climax and, before it's over, 'Just In Time' has already been burned into your memory. 

Wrapping up the EP is the most organic of all the tracks, 'Result'. With its foundation laid in live, natural drums, it grooves hard while a cosmic flute-like wind instrument calls out through the dense, yet soft bass. As all the sounds culminate into a trippy version of the primary vibe, 'Result' quickly drops back into its pristine, original idea from before the break, flawlessly designing a perfect dance floor hit. La Fleur has always been on fire and without a doubt consistent, but with this EP she is clearly at the top of her game and we couldn't be more thrilled to present to you, 'Make A Move'.

Saved’s biggest track of 2016 is back with the remix treatment.
First up is Nick Curly, who delivers a remix that glimmers with the original parts weaved into a new masterpiece. The wavering bassline wraps itself around the percussion as the track progresses intelligently, keeping the tension rising until the main drop arrives, causing dance floor destruction.
Completing the package is talented duo Mar-T & Luca Donzelli who deliver a great remix with a lot going on. The bassline ricochets across the bottom end creating a unique groove that works beside the vocal stabs as they tease their way into the mix. Delay and modulation is applied effectively making this another
hit for the clubs.
