Following INVŌKER’s ‘Superhero’, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present ‘The Chaos Inside’ from Imeïa, who has already been spotlighted on imprints such as Isolate, Frau Blau and Sum Over Histories. On this EP, the enigmatic producer blends impactful grooves, uncharacteristic delays, poignant textures and creative use of silence.

Things start off with ‘Le Pire Pour La Fin’, a deep cut which is led by a slow, drawn-out melody which recedes in favour of the bassline and noise-heavy plucks.
 
The eponymous ‘The Chaos Inside’ brings the energy levels a few notches up. The layered pad and choir initiate a progression of epic proportions over the simple, driving groove. The impacts, risers and glitches all accentuate this feeling of immensity. 

On ‘Elegancia’, the doubled kicks and resounding vocals set the scene for the larger than life lead synth. A subtle acid touch on the bass completes the tune. 

The last track, ‘Blue Romance’ displays the clearest vocals we’ve seen from Imeïa so far. The line ‘I don’t wanna be a fool, I just wanna be a tool’ is repeated throughout the intro and outro. A screaming guitar announces the highlight of the tune, with its uplifting bass pattern and toy-like percussions. An alternate dub mix is also available.

More fresh talent debuts on Watergate Records to continue a strong 2024, as we welcome Moullinex △ GPU Panic to the fold.
 
Created in 2023, Lisbon-based duo Moullinex △ GPU Panic are producers, DJs, and live performers, who've been dropping several strong releases on their co-headed label Discotexas last summer and are anticipating a slot at Sonar Lisbon. But more than that, the pair craft divine vocal-laden cuts that float the delicious divide between electronica, indie dance, and house. 
 
Their debut on Watergate Records is as sumptuous as we’d hoped. The title track is an exultant journey, as sun-dappled beats, uplifting chords, and GPU’s transcendent vocals fill the air. ‘Ar’ is equally glorious, made for the incoming outdoor party season or a weepy dancefloor occasion, it hits deep with sweeping synth layers and delicate rolling beats that gradually build in intensity throughout the grand nine-minute jam. It's uplifting in every way.

Indie House Records is an electronic music label originating from St Tropez, directly affiliated with the Indie Beach club and the Pablo nightclub. The artistic direction is managed by Villanova, who describes the label as follows:

We've decided to dive in and kick off this new adventure to spotlight the awesome talent of our DJ friends who have been playing with us from day one and other artists we've long wanted to see join our family. There isn't a strict style to expect, the only thing I tell the artists is: "You've played here, you know the drill, send me music that can rock Pablo or Indie Beach" - that's it. So, there will be house, deep house, disco house, tech house, and even techno. The one thing all these tracks will share is that vibe that fits perfectly into our parties. I really hope we can capture and share the passion we've got for electronic music that we've championed from the start and brings us fun and joy, season after season.

Villanova :
I first heard "Guarapita" last summer when Ramyen was opening for Adriatique at Indie Beach in Ramatuelle. I was at the bar when suddenly I hear this voice singing. And what I mostly saw was the reaction of the dancers, smiles, lots of smiles. I crossed the whole beach to ask Ramyen the name of that track and he tells me it's his own work, still in progress. Without hesitation, I asked him to set it aside for what would be the first release of Indie House Records. I absolutely wanted to release this track because I remember the first reaction of the people and mine as well. A track played for the first time and making such an immediate impact is an unstoppable track. And who better than Ramyen, one of our closest friends, to launch this family label?
