THE NOOK was born from the emergent sonic wave of Medicinal Dance Music, whose unifying effect is being felt around the globe with growing frequency. With visionary sound scapes woven by a shamanic order of priestess and wizard DJ’s alike, THE NOOK embodies a new dimension of sacred sounds and ritual beats to satisfy the native, barefoot dancer within us all.

This effeminate sound has proved a revelation, bewildering and bedazzling the underground music jungle with acts such as Mira, Nicola Cruz, Martha Van Straaten, Frey Train and Pigmalião, delivering mix after mix of intoxicating journeys into deep, divine realms. Make no mistake though, these beats are powerful and earthy, pulsing as low as the heart beat, bringing new rhythms, grooves and mystical melodies that expand the possibilities of psychedelic dance music.🌳 💫

Dear friends, we are proud to present you the 25th DHM podcast. This time, we meet up with Mozambeatz from Maputo, Mozambique.

Fábio dos Santos is the name behind the Mozambeatz project. 

He is a Mozambican DJ and producer currently living in São Paulo. DJ for over 10 years, he’s not tied to labels, his sound line fluctuates between House and Techno, always keeping the underground present in his sets and productions. 

Bass, groove and striking melodies are his trademark and with an unmistakable feeling, he always adapts to each dancefloor, captivating the public wherever he goes.

A prime memory from our first Burn in 2019 is dancing at DISTRIKT for a Robot Heart tie-up with a big group of friends, full of joy and awe and acting like goofballs. That year we had camped at 10&K. Flash forward four years later, we found ourselves opening up DISTRIKT's 2023 season in their new home at 10&K. So much has changed in four years, both globally and personally as we've moved into the creation part of our electronic music journey instead of just being appreciators.

One thing that hasn't changed a bit is the joy and awe we feel being present in the dust with thousands of our closest friends and bringing those memories home with us each year as fuel. Thank you to DISTRIKT for giving us the opportunity to experience such a beautiful full-circle moment. These tunes are all about setting the groove as you begin a new journey.
