Eyes Open

Empire is the debut single from Long Distances, an indie rock trio of Aarifah Rebello, Apurv Agrawal and Zubin Pastakia. Dreamy, evocative vocals sit within a soundscape of chimey, melodic guitar leads, gritty rhythm parts, glassy synths and pounding drums (played by Jai Row Kavi). The song twists and turns, ending up, sonically, at a very different place from where it began. Mali (Maalavika Manoj) adds her poignant harmonies to the mix through the song. 

The song speaks to the impermanent nature of power. Whether it's massive political forces that now seem omnipotent, or, the tyranny of the little despots that live amongst us, they are all eventually doomed to fall.

They Said So

After releasing their critically acclaimed debut album CHIVVY have now become a duo and finished a new EP. The second single 'Reign', invites you to a preview of their upcoming EP's new sound. 'Reign' is the song about fantasy and reality and about taking control of your life or letting yourself fall. The music, which was recorded with and co-produced by Daniel 'Fagge' Fagerström (Viagra Boys, Jenny Wilson, Nina Kinert etc), is still as grand and dreamy as before.

CHIVVY creates a large and evocative soundscape with atmospheric guitars, synths and dreamy vocals. The music is often compared to bands such as Warpaint, Beach House, and Cocteau Twins. Last year they released their debut album which was praised by both Swedish and international press and received, among other things, 5 stars by GAFFA and was classified as one of Sweden's best albums of 2021 by HYMN. In 2022, CHIVVY was nominated for the GAFFA prize and the Manifest Awards.
