Semmering (Austria), Tuesday, 28th July 1914 — just before noon.

The balconies glimmer in the mountain light. White linen tablecloths sway softly in the breeze. Silverware clinks, champagne glasses breathe their quiet secrets, and somewhere below, a steam train sighs its way into the valley. The world feels untouchable, eternal.

But then — a single telegram.
And in that moment, time fractures.

No one knows yet that life will never return. No one imagines the quiet dining rooms will one day stand abandoned, their laughter swallowed by forests and silence.

This is a song about that last golden hour before history caught fire — about the fragile dream of a world that didn’t know it was about to disappear. Chillwave tones carry the mountain air, soft synths drift like sunlight across balconies, and echoes of distant trains hum beneath it all.

We’ve got a special treat for you on this WUMP Wednesday, so shut out the noise of the world and press play. 

The fusion of @Pi-Wrecks & @RecycledFunk is a match made in electro-soul heaven, and despite the song title, the love for these musicians is burning HOT in our hearts. Recycled Funk’s iconic guitar licks and saxophone accents blend seamlessly with Pi Wrecks’ signature textures, resulting in a piece that tells a story of longing through sheaths of blue emotion. Time and time again, Pi Wrecks creates art that aims to convey a mood or emotion to foster human connection, focusing on the journey instead of “the big drop.” Combining this depth of emotion with the brilliant instrumentation of Recycled Funk, “Love Has Died” takes us inward and invites us to FEEL. Subtle progressions carry us into the different sections, layering instrumentation and crescendoing bass textures to sneakily get your whole body moving as the purposeful percussion hits home. When the instrument melodies temporarily dissolve into the background toward the end, we’re given an experimental climax of glitchy bassy goodness that’ll bring a smile to your face in cathartic release.
