The quartet from France are a steady fixture in the world of modern digging. Colin, Guillaume, Romain and Xavier originally met in Marseille but are now all based in Paris where they very successfully continue their hunt for the unknown (seldom above the 110 BPM mark). 

The now-Parisian taste-makers do not only have one of the most excellently curated Youtube Channels out there, they recently also proved that they are very capable Editors themselves on the most recent (and excellently curated) Orange Tree Edits (Vol. 8). 

For 5918mins., they provide nothing short of a masterclass of modern digging - which left us astonished and (dare we say it) even a bit envious given the sheer endless amount of unknown treasures comprised in this mix. So without further ado, let's dive right into 111 mins. of pure digging pleasure.

This little melting pot of goodness from the Italian stallion and all-round don Raff Todesco under the moniker Free On Board, aptly named ‘In My Soul’, had all the makings of a winner but only clocked in at a criminally short 3 minutes. We got the scalpel out on this ‘90s gem, spliced and diced in some new sections and took out that semi-questionable guitar breakdown to create what we hope is a feel-good, dancefloor heater ☀️

After highly acclaimed releases from OK EG and Donald’s House, Wax’o Paradiso Recordings proudly welcomes Naarm/Melbourne producer Midnight Tenderness (Ryan Hunter) to the fold. Over four tracks the ‘Hydrosphere EP’ continues the label’s narrative of platforming contemporary antipodean psychedelia with three masterful productions and a remix from Boorloo/Perth’s Hame DJ.

As a producer with influences rooted in dub, street soul, boogie and the DNA of UK club music, Ryan draws down on the Middy T sound with the title track ‘Hydrosphere’, a blend of broken machine funk, glistening synth lines and beautiful crisp drum programming. ‘Rain Vibe’ takes the sound palette further adding a hefty wub for good measure. ‘Catamaran’ transports us back to the golden era on the Balearic isles, with the original evoking Ibizan sunset cruises whilst Hame DJ’s remix brings some Madchester chug to the mix.
