The Athens-based DJ and producer took her path in electronic music in 2018. She co-manages #HER, dedicated to empowering gender minorities in the electronic music scene. 

As a producer she started producing music for visual art projects and trailers and released her first techno tracks and remixes on labels such as Underdub Records, OSM Tapes and Nomad Species. 

Her sets and tracks always have a story to tell; hovering among fast-paced BPMs, heavier basses and grooves, VRGN aims to create different emotional states with her work.

We came across VRGN seeing her perform at @sixdogsgr in Athens putting on a strong performance and we are happy to have her on the series. Go and enjoy one and a half hours of a proper workout by the artist.

Our member Ketevan joins our new series and supports invites Baku, Azerbaijan DJ, Shargiyya to our series Podcast #004.

Shargiyya was born and raised in Baku. Once she learned about electronic music, she completely absorbed herself into exploring it. In 2014 Shargiyya started experimenting with ambient music production. In 2016 she performed as a newcomer DJ at "GEM FEST" festival in Georgia. Right after that, she became a resident of Sintetik, a local club in Baku. In 2019 she was invited to record a podcast for Rinse FM, as one of the few women in the Azerbaijani electronic music scene. Last year she released her DJ mix and live set on the Polish radio "Radio Kapital" as part of the “Casplay show”. She is also an artist of “Chain agency” booking agency and resident of MARD.

Line Out & Sonic Surgeon host Mario Berger !

Mario always had a strong passion for the basement proof, bass driven facet of Techno. Born and raised in Potsdam, a town at the gates of Berlin, it was quite obvious that he got bit by the local Techno bug sooner or later.

After early visits at the old Tresor club, inspired by the harsh, experimental sound and the pure atmosphere he soon started to dig deeper in the thing called Techno and sustainably found Hard Wax as the main educator in taste which helped him to define his own identity.

His DJ sets are a blend of major infuences from artists like James Ruskin, Surgeon, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood or Planetary Assault Systems and labels like Underground Resistance, Downwards, Basic Channel and Tresor Records.

Successively he developed his DJ style and began playing at smaller events in his hometown. It was Alexander Kowalski who invited him to play at Tresor for the first time. After playing at the “New faces” and “Tresor.Next” event series he was appointed to the resident team of Tresor.

As an integral part of the team, Mario is also one of the curators of the “New faces” nights for quite a while now, where he is inviting young emerging artists that share the identical idea of Techno with the same splice of understatement.

Mario has released music on various labels, such as Mord Records and Konsequent.

His solo ep “Field Dominance“ was released on the Berlin based label KONFLKT.

Milena Glowacka is a vinyl-only DJ, producer and liveact performer. Based in central Europe, a female pioneer of the polish techno scene. Plays regularly in Germany and appeared four times in the legendary Tresor club in Berlin. Her tracks are full of trippy techno and muddy atmosphere in which you can easily get lost. Her original, unique production style resulted in multiple collaborations with Semantica Records and vinyl releases on labels such as Delirio, about:blank, Inner Tension and Monday Off. In DJ sets, she is an uncompromising vinyl lover, combining a selection between trippy techno and hypnotic, dance floor sounds, often intertwining them with intensive, groovy techno accents.

Si hablamos de la historia del Techno a mediados de los ‘90 es fundamental la figura de Richard Polson (1969-2006) y su aportación a esta cultura pese a su prematura muerte con 37 años, de la que hoy se cumplen 18 años. Fue uno de los pioneros en crear una nueva línea sonora de techno europeo, tribal, minimalista, oscuro, repetitivo, con funk y texturas abstractas.  

Artistas como Jeff Mills, Claude Young o Ben Sims apostaron por incluir este tipo de sonido en sus sets y pincharlo en la mayoría de clubs y eventos de todo el mundo.
Fundador del sello Surface Records (1997-2019) y co-fundador de Blueprint Records en 1996 junto a James Ruskin, fueron compañeros de estudio y debutaron con su primera producción firmada como Void en 1995. El siguiente año, estrenan el sello Blueprint donde comienzan a lanzar sus primeras producciones bajo el alias Outline y presentan al joven prometedor Oliver Ho (Birdland, Raudive, Life, Broken English Club, Slow White Fall…) quien se encarga de firmar varias referencias en Blueprint y posteriormente en Surface. Durante la primera etapa de ambos labels cabe destacar la participación de artistas como Claude Young (aka Twine), Alexander Kowalski (aka DisX3), Paul Mac, Locutus, Epoch (Ashley Burchett), Oscar Mulero, Surgeon, Regis o Archae & Grovskopa.
Richard Polson (Lysander Pearson, Structure, Richard Lahaine, Brendan Ealey) fué mitad del mítico dúo The 65D Mavericks (2000-2006) junto con Nick Dunton (D-56M, Ever Vivid, The Echelon Plan) debutando en la primera referencia de Coda Records en el año 2000. También firmaron juntos algunas referencias bajo el alias de Abelde, Spirit y Dual Unity (con Mark Broom).
En una segunda y última etapa Richard y Nick fundan Ebullition Records (2001) donde sólo se edita una única referencia. Posterior a esa experiencia nace Inceptive Records (2003-2006) con la visión de promocionar a nuevas generaciones de artistas como: Ø [Phase], Nick Wilson, HU, Sys-Ex, CYP o Reeko que aportaron producciones de alto calibre en esta nueva etapa sonora posterior al año 2000, donde se puede apreciar que nuevos horizontes sonoros del Techno se van a explorar durante la siguiente década.

En este mix la mayoría de tracks que se han seleccionado son principalmente de artistas con colaboración directa o de manera paralela en proyectos con Richard Polson, incluyendo tracks del mismo artista y algunos de sus alias.
