Ozel AB is a London-based member of the core Lobster Theremin family. A master of skewed, brain-sliding weirdo productions that sit somewhere between Werk Discs and heavily dredged Detroit techno and house. Utilising a stodgy, MPC-sounding rhythmic structure, his tracks segue between minor anthems and outright opuses - dragging sonic ideas through the maze and allowing metamorphic ideas to flourish and blossom that take us to wild end points we'd never have imagined at the start.

Here is the mix in Luke's own words...

"the mix was recorded as a way to showcase some of my electronic music tastes outside of the realms of house and techno. no 4/4 kicks, or 120+ bpms. The entire mix is slowed way down and i tried to develop the ideas as quickly as possible and in one take sort of stream of consciousness, just jamming ideas, not overthinking things (as the slow jams title suggests), which is perhaps why some of the tracks sound a little awkward or incomplete. 

The main theme for the mix is isolation and feeling disconnected from the world around you. The way in which we have evolved socially in this digital age can easily overwhelm. But, there is a beauty in solitude also, and a catharsis. It is ok to feel this, and the emotions you feel are what keeps us human, subsequently, we are alone and connected simultaneously. always. This duality is hopefully conveyed in the mix. alone together.

The thing i find most interesting about doing a mix, is that it can allow the artist to explore their musical palette in ways that  may not make sense for an official release. Some of these loops are years old and so it was nice to delve into the depths of my hard drive and hear what kinds of ideas i was coming up with back then."
