The moment Liz Somes mixed her first two tracks, her mind switched off and the music took control. But the Seattle artist’s next chapter is far more deliberate. She intends for her fearless approach as an artist to carry on techno’s historic legacy as an inclusive safe space where groundbreaking ideas can take form.

Liz selects all of her music by ear, seldom paying any mind to the names on a given record. She produces thought-provoking tracks of her own — such "Robots" or hair-raising “The Unknown” — without trying to cater to popular labels. Her refusal to conform has paid off. A 2023 winner of the Pete Tong DJ Academy Future Talent Awards and Sama' Abdulhadi's personal award, Liz Somes is now a familiar face behind the decks on several continents.

It is at this crucial impasse that too many artists falter and start playing it safe, afraid to risk their mounting momentum. Not Liz Somes. She’s only just begun to explore the shrouded depths of her sound signature, calling back from the abyss at every purposeful step. Her commitment harks back to a time when techno broke the rules and contemplated a distant future. As far as she’s concerned, it always should.

These concepts are second nature to Liz, as revolutionary as they may seem. She follows the sound, honest and unyielding, faithful that all the rest will fall into place.

Erozion is the musical alias of Noah Heise. Getting his start in the Seattle house music scene, Erozion has consistently curated club sets of all different moods. He started the Deep Contour house music collective, which threw intentional events bringing in top talent from around the world. Since 2024, Erozion now lives in Los Angeles where he is focused on his own music production.

Born and raised in the Seattle area and always surrounded by different types of music. My personal musical journey took me from 80s synth-pop, to early rap & hip-hop, metal, grunge, punk, and then industrial music, before finding house, techno, and the underground Seattle rave scene in the early 90s. After going to my first rave in 1993, I was absolutely hooked, started collecting vinyl, and bought my first set of Technics SL1200MK2 turntables and DJ mixer in 1995. 

Collecting vinyl and DJing led me to Platinum Records Seattle, an underground vinyl store,  where I worked from 2000 to late 2003, during a massive resurgence of rave culture in Seattle. During that time, I played multiple raves at old venues like NAF, Studio B, Club Insight, Club FX, and clubs/after-hours like Aero Space, Noc Noc, Liquid Lounge, Club Contour, etc. 

At the end of 2003 I starting working for Rane Corporation WA, a pro-audio/ DJ mixer company that was based in Mukilteo area from 1981 until the closing of the factory in 2016. While at Rane from 2003-2016, I worked as a Product Specialist, Technical Support, Product Clinician, Social Media Manager, Artist Relations, Beta Tester, Project Manager, and Product Design, and the designer of the infamous Rane MP2015 and Rane MP2014 rotary DJ mixers. 

Fast forward to today, I am still DJing, still raving, and now throwing underground parties in the Seattle area (ifykyk 😘). I'm a resident DJ for the Diffusion crew, Brit Jean Presents, and Blue Moon. I've been producing music under the name "Double Helix," a musical duo with my good friend Rob Ali, with two releases out (so far) on Deep Contour Music, and Seattle's own Uniting Souls Music!
