It Is Written Review
	The number seven in Christianity is symbolic of among other things, completion and perfection. Inspirational reggae artist Wayne Stoddart seemingly got the seven year itch, as his last album “Love Convictions” was released seven years ago in 2007. During that time, he has not been musically dormant and his work has culminated in his latest album “It Is Written.” This project finds him in his usual roots, rock, reggae mode with inspirational messages. It also shows musical and artistic growth with a willingness to experiment. Stoddart who serves as executive producer, made the decision to install Wailers and Reggae Force band member Aston Barrett Jr. as the album’s producer which turns out to be a prudent decision. This is Barrett’s first stab at producing an entire album (all but one song) but you couldn’t tell by the end result. He does have production experience and musical pedigree in his favor, which is masterfully displayed here. He plays live drums on all but one track and the influence of his late uncle Carlton Barrett of Bob Marley & The Wailers fame is evident. He also plays bass on three of the tracks which is his father Aston Sr.’s primary instrument in his role as music director of the world-renowned Wailers. Barrett Jr. is also a multi-instrumentalist like his father and his musicianship on various instruments is displayed throughout this project.
	All of the songs on this album were written by Stoddart with three co-authored. The songs convey Christian themes effectively without being preachy and are enhanced by expert production. “Three C’s” demonstrates this balance perfectly and is laced with sweet harmonies that can be found through the whole album. Stoddart wrote the song over ten years ago but decided to wait for the right musicians to work on the song. That is a seemingly a divinely inspired move. It was released as a single in 2012 and is featured in the movie “Disorientation” that same year. It is presented here with a new mix.  “Turn It Around” is another outstanding track with a hard hitting rhythm and first rate saxophone phrasings as always from the great Dean Fraser. There are three vocal collaborations here and the guests were perfect choices for their respective songs. St. Matthew shines brightly on “Righteous Revolution” where a DJ style reminiscent of Sizzla is present. This is a powerful cut worthy of massive reggae airplay. Tamara Brooks (aka Tamara James/Teena Tamara) formally of the female group TNJ gives an outstanding vocal output on “Taking Over” with Stoddart playing the role of the DJ and Mr. Fraser playing expertly on the sax. “Black And White” features DJ Troy Genius who is Red Rat’s brother. Another track that is really worthwhile is “Fulfilment Of The Bible” which Stoddart originally recorded in 1996 as the lead singer of the group Dynamis. It was his first recording. It is given new treatment by Barrett and what a treat it is.
	This album features exceptional production and musicianship as well a musical diversity. Check out the country styled “Back To My Life” where the two genres are segued seamlessly. How about some modern day ska? It’s found here with “Dance In The Rain.” There is roots reggae with a contemporary feel on “Charity” and “Settle Down,” the latter produced by Dale “Dr. Dizzle” Virgo. There is even a piece of dub here where “Charity” is deconstructed to its bare essentials. This seemingly lost art is on display here with engineer Rohan Dwyer’s mixing skills at front and center. There is plenty of good music to be found here. The musical and production standards are high and there are plenty of life application messages. “It Is Written” has lots of balance with several musical gems and is a great listen.

Wayne Stoddart is at it again; this time in the rhetorical classroom of song and higher learning, schooling pupils on his electrifying new track, ‘Raise It.’ The proverbial lesson begins with a riveting historical intro of epic proportions, citing civil disobedience activist, the honorable Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in one of his most prominent speeches; “All we say to America is be true to what you said on paper... [ ] The greatness of America is the right to protest for right.” The musical climate of this soldier’s anthem is laced with declarative messages exposing truth and raising spiritual awareness amidst a starchy social terrain. “Who are these lawmaker guys trying to distort the laws of the Most High?” is the loaded question Stoddart queries in the primary verse; a bulls-eye missile of compelling lyrics directed to an inescapable target that achieves exactly the intended effect. ‘Raise it’ provoke mankind’s consciousness towards recognition of public discrepancies, moral decadence and societal plights; imploring to “open up your eyes, read between the lines [and avoid] annihilation” and religious pollution, a reverberant instruction from the symbolic homework assignment to “read Rev-You-Lation.” Those lyrics hit the ears differently when armed and activated with the Word of Yah. Believe me you'll want to take notes! Pull up a chair and get your school gear because the roots rock reggae professor dives into the next segment of curriculum with a vocabulary lexicon of names by which a “chosen generation with the righteous meditation” can call on Jehovah God. In his activation chant to “raise” the banner high, Stoddart pleas to “shout the name of Adonai” – the divine name translated ‘Lord’ and signifying sovereignty; and at proclamation of the name, ‘Yeusha HaMashiach (sp)’ – interpreted ‘The Anointed One,’ obstacles, hindrances, blockers “haffi (in his West Indian dialect) [must] step aside.” Is there such a concept as a peaceful battlefield? There is, according to Stoddart, the singer/songwriter who yielded chart topping hits like ‘Charity’ and ‘Live, Love and Learn,’ from his ‘It is Written’ sophomore album. But, make no mistake, Wayne’s high-raised bloodstained banner in ‘Raise It’ (an illustration of Jehovah Nissi – the Lord is our banner) is no white flag indication of surrender in God’s army but instead an entreating to recognize earthly putrefaction using spiritual comprehension and therefore standing resolute on God’s command. “Walking through the valley, [he] will never fear your night,” promulgates Stoddart on this explosive track, which boasts lyrical ingenuity of Ninth Heaven stratospheric dimensions, an equivalence of transcending space and time. Track mission synopsis: Da one ya haad! (Translated - This one is hard!) But Stoddart reminds, “Don’t you ever get shy.” 

After a treat of listening to gospel sensation Tashai Houston live on stage you may want to ask her the question—“Are you related to Whitney?” – And it’s no surprise where the root of your question would have been derived. She is gifted with the ability to hold high soprano notes without tapping into the reservoir of her well extended descant range. The passion and conviction of her delivery mirrors that of the late multi-grammy award winning diva. 

Tashai Houston was born in the district of Alexandria in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. She grew up in a nearby district called Philadelphia and attended the Philadelphia Church of God. Her passion and gift for singing landed her the position of local star and the church praise and worship leader.

Tashai Houston early experiences in the music industry included background vocal for a few budding recording Caribbean Gospel artists and bands. She revealed in this interview that she always felt deep down that she would record her own project and become a professional soloist as she realized and valued the impact her singing had on both her and her audience. 

“I came from humble beginnings but I know God called me to be a music minister and his call comes with provision so I waited patiently on Jehovah Jireh and now the fullness of time has come” were the psalmist’s remarks to this new recording stage of her life. 

Tashai has recently recorded her debut singles: Sheltered in The Arms of God and I Give You the Glory Lord with veteran multi-award winning songwriter and producer Wayne Stoddart on Undiluted Muzik Record Label. The singles have been released on radio stations worldwide (including xml radio) and are now available in stores. The future of this artist is extremely bright and judging from the singles released we anticipate a timeless album from her. 

Tashai says her philosophy is based on 1 Corinthians 13:1 because she believes love is the key to unlock every closed door. Perfect love represents God because God is love and a heart of love is necessary for a minister to be truly effective.

A heart of love is what emanate from the two songs on this new Single CD and it is a must have for all gospel and general music lovers!

03 I Give You the Glory

Introducing Breanna Jade, a multi-talented recording artist and songwriter, who just recently released her sizzling debut single, Savior. Born Breanna Jade Stoddart, in the city of Mandeville, Jamaica, she relocated with her family to New York when she was just 5 years old. As she grew up, she found inspiration from The Word, where she learned to appreciate the uniqueness of the Creator and the created. This made it possible for her to realize and develop her own unique identity, while  appreciating the individuality of others. This prospective came easy as Breanna was raised under the encouragement of her parents in a household that promoted loving others, just as you would love yourself.  

Whether she was at church, school or just singing with her musically inclined family, music was a constant in Breanna's life. As she entered  her teens, this constant grew into an unbreakable passion that gave way for her to create her own unique style and sound. Just one example of this style can be experienced in her new release, Savior. Written when she was just 13 years old, Savior is an inspirational pop rock / country song, that speaks about human struggle and the divine help available to all through the Most High. Now 15  years old, and a fan of genres such as Gospel, Pop, Rock, Neo-Soul, and Reggae, Breanna views music as her voice in this world. With this voice, she sheds a light on issues close to her heart while also expressing her fiery take on life. Music is her way to share her feelings of joy, sadness, anger, or peace with the world. In doing this, and with her sweet words and melodies, it is her goal that whoever listens to her music will feel a sense of hope and renewed strength.

As a natural singer, Breanna, loves growing her skill in other artistic areas as well. Along with being trained classically in the Viola, she also practices playing her guitar, writing stories, reading, drawing, painting, and honing her abilities as an actress by participating in skits and theater performances. Outside of her dedication to the arts, Breanna is just as committed to her church. She enjoys not only being on the praise and worship team, but also serving as her church's youth president. Along with being a student, in all that she does, Breanna's main goal is to always and forever glorify God. Without Him and the drive He gave her to work hard, her mission to speak the truth to the world would never be possible.
