Middle East leaders are meeting in Amman, Jordan on Wednesday for the 28th Arab League summit-- including Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir. Jordan's Information Ministry says that leaders will be discussing the wars in Iraq, Libya and Yemen and the fight against terrorism. Although it is a signatory to the International Criminal Court, Jordan has  welcomed Bashir-- despite the fact that the ICC has issued a warrant for the Sudanese president's arrest, in relation to  war crimes in Darfur. RFI's Laura Angela Bagnetto speaks with experts and advocates to find out more:

President Trump has signed what the administration calls the “Energy Independence Executive Order.” Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, calls the new policy “a senseless betrayal of our national interest.” We hear more from Suh on the order. The Ugandan army has said a senior commander of the Lord's Resistance Army has surrendered. A military spokesperson said on Wednesday that Michael Omona handed himself over to US troops in the Central African Republic last month. Omona was kidnapped by the LRA at age 12 and rose through the ranks and was at one point in charge of Joseph Kony's communication. Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army was originally set up in 1987. The UN says it has been responsible for killing more than 100,000 people. Kony is especially known for recruiting children. He launched a rebellion to impose his own version of the ten commandments on northern Uganda.
