Oihi Bay, is the site of the first recorded Christian address in New Zealand. The Chorus is in the Maori language. Karanga is to call and in the Maori tradition this calling is of a spiritual nature usually unto sacred places. The chorus is calling you to listen to the good news. The sound at the beginning is the putatara which is the conch shell, this is also sounded to inform of news and as part of the calling ceremony.

On The Lonely Beach of Oihi Bay

The Meditatio Music Project is being led by Michael Rathbone and Vincent Bonelli, in London. The idea is to invite people from the Community around the world to contribute music and make a CD.
