Während ihrer Kindheit und Reisen in Süd und Ost Afrika sammelte Nasrin (KünstlerIn-Name: Nazreen) viele unterschiedliche Inspirationen. Energetisch experimentiert sie nun mit Afrohouse und elektronischer Musik. In Berlin gründete sie zusammen mit Rave-Bekanntschaften und nun Freunden das Kollektiv „Ravulva“. Nach einiger Zeit in der bebenden Berliner Techno Szene, wohnt sie nun in Bordeaux, um Musik zu machen. Lass dich von ihr auf musikalische Reisen in unbekannte Länder mitnehmen.

INTERVIEW:
1. Wie lange legst du nun schon auf und wie hast du es gelernt?
 
Nazreen: Ich lege nun seit ca. 1,5 Jahren auf. Ich hatte lange vorgehabt es zu lernen und dann die Zeit, die ich während des ersten Corona-Lockdowns hatte dafür genutzt. Es ging mit dem kleinen Pioneer DJ200 und Youtube Tutorials los. Danach hatte ich das riesen Glück, dass mir ein guter Freund, Dave, einen S4 Traktor Controller auf unbegrenzte Zeit ausgeliehen hat. Damit gings dann richtig los 😊
 
2. Gibt es ein bestimmtes Event oder Moment an das/den du dich gern zurück erinnerst? 
 
N: Ich habe im Juni diesen Jahres an einem Musik-Wettbewerb hier in Frankreich teilgenommen (Ich mache hier zur Zeit ein Erasmus-Semester). Ich sollte 20 Minuten lang selbst produzierte Tracks auflegen. Ich war super nervös, weil ich mir nicht sicher war, wie die eigenen Tracks auf den großen Lautsprechern klingen würden. Am Ende hat es einfach nur Spaß gemacht und gab mir den Mut jetzt öfter eigene Tracks vor Leuten zu spielen.
 
3. Was wünscht du dir, sollte in der Clubszene anders laufen?
 
N: Ich wünsche mir diversere und ausgewogenere Line-ups. Ich glaube es hat vor allem auch so lange gedauert, bis ich das Auflegen endlich angefangen habe, weil es mir an FLINTA* Vorbildern mangelte.
 
4. Produzierst du auch eigene Musik und wenn ja, wie würdest du diese Musik beschreiben?
 
N: Ja, ich habe das Auflegen und Produzieren zeitgleich angefangen. Während meiner Kindheit und Jugend in Südafrika sang ich viele Jahre in einem traditionell afrikanischem Jugend-Chor (UP-Youth Choir) welcher mir glaube ich die musikalische Tür zu Harmonien und Afrobeats eröffnete. Ich würde meine Musik heute also prinzipiell als afro-house beschreiben. Jedoch, gibt es immer wieder Einflüsse anderer Kulturen je nachdem wo ich gerade bin und was mich so inspiriert.
 
5. Was liegt dir neben dem Auflegen noch sehr am Herzen? 
 
N: Neurowissenschaften. Ich studiere Biochemie und neben der Musik ist das meine zweit-größte Leidenschaft. Nach der Corona-Krise haben noch mehr Menschen mit psychischen Erkrankungen zu kämpfen und daran wird meiner Meinung nach viel zu wenig geforscht. Da würde ich gerne noch meinen Beitrag zu leisten.

N: dynamisch
 
7. Musik machen bedeutet für dich…?
 
N: Musik ist das Ventil, mit dem ich alle möglichen Emotionen verarbeiten kann. Egal ob ich gestresst, traurig, verliebt oder glücklich bin, mit Musik kann ich es ausdrücken. Mir fällt es manchmal schwer meine Gefühle und Gedanken zu teilen, daher bin ich einfach nur dankbar, dass ich die mittel habe Musik zu machen. Damit kann ich mit Menschen kommunizieren und Gefühle verarbeiten.
 
8. Hast du bestimmte Pläne und Ziele, von denen du uns erzählen möchtest?
 
N: Oh ja, ich möchte gerne so etwas ähnliches wie ihr hier in Frankreich machen. Leider sieht es hier (in Bordeaux) noch sehr mickrig aus was diverse Line-ups angeht. Ich möchte also eine Art Kollektiv gründen, in dem es grundsätzlich darum geht, Können und Wissen übers Auflegen und Produzieren zwischen FLINTA* Personen auszutauschen. Noch, arbeite ich aber an meinen Französich-Skills und daran hier ein Netzwerk aufzubauen.

Since taking her first steps into the club scene, adrija always had a passion for rooms full of high spirits and vibrating basses. Within the heat of electronic music she holds a deep fascination for that certain moment when captivating sounds fuse with dazzling lights and (many many) emotions.
