Artist bio:
Mi Chi Ko was born in 2019, inspired by the energy of the Kobe and Osaka scene during a season I spent living in Japan. When I returned to Monterrey, where I currently live, I began exploring different genres within electronic music, moving between house, techno, and electro mainly.
I like my sets to tell stories, exploring different textures and emotions. I've had the opportunity to play at festivals and events such as Solomun Monterrey, Zamna Monterrey, Pal Norte (2021, 2024), and Sunday Sunday, as well as clubs like Funk, Dynamitas, Departamento, Topaz Deluxe, Japan, Sauna mp3, Bar Oriente, and Sic Club. I've also shared the stage with artists such as Blond:ish, DJ Garthouse, Moderna, Skyrager, Shubostar, Solomun, and Zombies in Miami.
My music has reached international platforms such as Knight of the Jaguar Show (Colombia), Riotvan (Germany), and Piñata Radio (France).
Currently, I am a resident at Topaz Deluxe, co-founder of Penumbra along with SolarX—a label that supports emerging talent—and founder of Loop de Loop, a house collective that has grown significantly in Monterrey.
Lately, I’ve been collaborating on women-led projects. At the cultural space ArdeArte, I’ve given mixing courses focused on women, and I’ve also worked with Humo Rosa by Cerveza Rey, a beer created by and for women, participating in various events. For me, it’s essential to continue promoting female talent in the local and national scene, creating spaces where more women can express themselves.
