"Bewekedi" in my mother tongue means "sunrise", it is the name of my mother and it symbolises hope for a better day.

The 5th of August last, I made my debut in Pianoland, Amsterdam. Giving me the freedom to bring a more ethereal yet punchy afro house sound that evening, I'm sharing with you this 1h30 recording. It oscillates between dreaming voices paired with strong drums and snares, to the rhythms of tribal claps.

By the age of 3 Juju Moura exchanged her homeland Brazil for Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During the lockdown she started spinning records and by recording and broadcasting her sets, she illuminated the lives of numerous Amapiano addicts and pioneers.

Her sound can be described as sexy, feminine, energetic and powerful.
Juju is highly driven and never misses an opportunity to train her skills and discover new musical treasures.

Her hypnotizing sounds and ever fashionable appearance have left an indelible footprint in the magical Amapiano world.

His electronic alter ego Wes Lee was created through a path of spiritual awakening pushed upon him by ancestral healing/cathartic experiences and simultaneously being inspired by his mom’s hero.

Wes Lee is a well known figure in the Dutch Electronic and Afro/Amapiano movement, hosting groundbreaking events and playing the sound of fusion at many festivals and clubs.

As the focus in the world of electronic music is returning to the continent where that drum beat started, it only made sense to drop his first production on Philou Louzolo’s label Wokoundou Music.
