Newly formed duo Habitatt lands on Purified Records with their 3-track ‘See’ EP. Exploring melodic territories, the title track meanders across an undulating sonic pathway, and flows further into immersive soundscapes in ‘Terminal D’ and ‘Time’. 

The ‘See’ EP artwork features an image of a sea turtle by Daniel Nicholson. Sea turtles, ancient mariners of the oceans, have traversed Earth's waters for millions of years, witnessing the changing tides of time. Their lifecycle, from the vulnerable hatching stage, to the determined return to nesting beaches, highlights the intricacies of nature's design. These graceful creatures, each with its unique migratory patterns, are now facing serious threats, including habitat destruction and plastic pollution. Organizations like @conserveturtles commit themselves to conservation efforts that encompass both nesting sites and the broader marine environments. Ensuring the survival of sea turtles becomes not only a conservation imperative but also a testament to our commitment to preserving the timeless stories of Earth's ancient travelers. Green turtles are listed as endangered according to the IUCN.

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

Continuing their passion for supporting emerging, exciting names and their ongoing remix packages, the iconic German duo now welcome two new names to the label, KASIA, who arrives following music via Drumcode, Armada and Octopus, and LORRAINNE, whose recent releases include Krafted and Astral, as the pair serve up fresh versions of the two productions.

Providing her take on ‘No Memory’,’ KASIA builds on the track’s vibrant lead melodies and flips the script with a reinforced frame of brooding basslines and impactful kicks. Meanwhile, LORRAINNE’s take on ‘Outlandos’ delivers a warping and menacing rework armed with ominous textures that offset the production’s swirling synths and hypnotic builds.

Revisiting a selection of label releases, Purified Records presents the Remixes II compilation. Inviting French producer Aalson to put his own spin on Colombian producer Deviu’s ‘Snow’ Ft. Mira Nait, his remix enters a heavier dimension while maintaining the original’s vocals and progressive atmosphere. Moving into German producer TH;EN’s remix of ‘The Night’ by HEREON x Adam Sellouk x Braev x Like Mike, this powerful rendition builds a steady soundscape around the impactful vocals. Revisiting Nightlapse’s ‘Weightless’, Swiss producer Dan Sushi infuses trance and progressive elements to achieve a rave-ready version of the label anthem.

The Remixes II artwork displays coral and surrounding reef fish, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Small reef fish play a crucial role in maintaining the health of coral ecosystems by controlling algae growth, which can otherwise smother corals. Their feeding habits promote coral regeneration and biodiversity, ensuring the resilience of these delicate marine habitats. These little fish also serve as a vital food source for larger predators, supporting the broader oceanic food web. Named so because it is the first song that caught the attention of Paul from HVOB, Matteo's friend and mentor in the world of music, 'The Beginning' is about the commencement of a new chapter for Matteo, from which he gained the spirit and strength to pursue his dreams of music production and fulfill his potential. An electronic re-edit of a song from his band / side-project Extravaganza, the track pulsates with a distinctively brooding atmosphere and soulful melancholy, both sensually muted and hypnotic to the full - making it the ideal companion for these in-limbo moments, suspended halfway contemplative stasis and floor-friendly dynamism. Yoshitoshi’s Four Points series is about celebrating the vibrancy of different international dance cultures, bringing producers together from four “points” across the globe to create something truly special. Now in its 3rd iteration, we’re buzzing off the contributions to Four Points III. Each artist on the package brings their signature sound to the release, but we find consistency throughout in the melodic and groovy style of the music.

Representing Paris, France is Olivier Giacomotto, whose smash EP “Elle / Lui” was one of Yoshitoshi’s recent highlights. His track “Breath” picks up where the EP left off, continuing the dark and trippy journey Olivier is becoming known for. The track is full of beautiful, fine details, shifting constantly through new sonic territories that leave dancers in a state of awe with its absolute funkiness.

Next we have a collaboration representing both US coasts, with DC-based Enamour and LA-based Rinzen pulling out all the stops on “Quark.” Each of these guys has bubbled up strong over the past year and “Quark” demonstrates exactly why. The track is a case study in precision-engineered production, with grandiose synth builds and riffs that flex like muscular tissue around the track’s backbone, a wildly dynamic and punchy groove.

Representing Vigo, Spain is Aaryon, who made his Yoshitoshi debut in January with the Nos EP. “Atica” dabbles in the sort of cool, nebulous, and experimental techno that makes Aaryon’s sound so intriguing. It’s perfect for easing into the night or bringing down a crowd that’s spent the last few hours hopped up on sonic steroids.

Last but certainly not least is Corren Cavini from Tilburg, Netherlands, who won our Splice remix contest last year for his remix of PQM’s Yoshitoshi classic “The Flying Song.” Corren’s mix grabbed our attention with its slowly developing sequences and clever use of the original vocal. Corren’s remix is a stellar example of how you rework a classic.

Four countries, four impeccable tracks – this is Four Points III.
