I went on a road trip after graduating from university this past summer and it was on this trip that I had initially came up with the chord structure and melody for this tune. Inspired by summer days in L.A. and ocean waves, Aubren and I wrote Escape founded on the principals of taking risks and trying something new with the people you love in order to achieve something more than our socially constructed confines. We might make mistakes along the way, but we can escape.

I remember listening to an interview with @thechainsmokers and Drew mentioned that all their best work (and biggest hits) have come together in the shortest amount of time. This remix was my first time experiencing that for myself first hand and the irony that it's a Chainsmokers remix just makes it all the better.
