Satoshi Fumi makes his long-awaited debut on the label with the 'Lotus EP'.

Satoshi Fumi describes his sound as 'Deep Tech House' but his fans would agree it's so much more than that. Signed to an incredible spread of imprints; from seminal US House label, King Street Sounds to John Digweeds' all conquering Bedrock by way of Darren Emerson's Detone, his sound is kaleidoscopic.

'Lotus' opens his account in fine form. A funky bongo grove, haunting pads and hooky sonics raise the temperature to the first break which adds colour and depth. Growing throughout the midsection the final break acts as a perfect stopgap: a delicate piano line adding emotive feels as you catch your breath before powering on until the dawn's first rays. 

'Acid Strings' takes a darker, more old skool path. On beat sonics start the robotic stomp before acidic undertones play against the main motifs creating a huge e-moment for the peak hours. Finally, 'Mirage' is a low-slung piano jam which bags of soul. Huge 808 kicks fill the speakers as piano lines and synth plucks dance with abandon in the upper frequencies. A joyous rapture of a tune.

Eight years after working together for the first time on Paul's Adapt album for the song 'In The Dark', Paul Hazendonk and Alice Rose have reconnected for a fresh collaboration and the result is nothing short of spectacular! 

We proudly present to you: 'Just Breathe'. A synth driven bombastic piece of melodic forward thinking house music.. or is it techno? It defies genre borders, that's for sure! Alice's dreamy lyrics and outstanding vocal performance take the song to the next level without a doubt.

Next to the original version an instrumental version is also included, as is a beatless version which is eerily haunting in all its stripped down beauty. 'Just Breathe' is one of those song that's unique in its own way, not following trends and aiming to be a timeless piece of art. With 'Other Side' we welcome back Artem Kalalb under his new moniker Astral Base to ICONYC. With his long-awaited return to the label, Artem delivers a slice of beautiful summer vibes. He kicks things off nicely with a deep foundation of melancholic moodiness, as the track strolls effortlessly through melodic inspired deep grooves, while the infectious chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. An exquisite track from Artem to introduce his new moniker on ICONYC.

The first remix comes courtesy of Irish sensation Whoriskey, famed for his intricate and refined productions delivers a cool uplifting take while adding his own personal touch to give the track a truly unique feel. His rework creates tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The drive and energy are the key here, as this controlled gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

The second remix from Frezel is an equally stunning example of how to create deep and moody vibes. The Dutch producer who is known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal leitmotif of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh - This transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

All the ingredients are there for another instant ICONYC classic and a fitting way to start the summer on ICONYC in style. Astral Base' 'Other Side' sees a worldwide release on July 15th, 2022. Don't miss out on this marvelous release.

Following on from the success of about:river’s ‘24 Years Apart’, Madloch’s Sound Avenue welcomes Greg Nairo & Modulo to the label for their debut EP. Based in Belgium, both Greg and Modulo are well established in their respective solo careers. Upon beginning their collaborative projects however, the duo began a rapid ascent within the world of organic house. A joint discography cites releases via All Day I Dream in Waves, Amulanga, Dawn till Dusk, and Nie Wieder Schlafen; a quartet of highly respected imprints where the majority of the duo’s work has landed across the last two calendar years. While their creations have been firmly rooted in the organic movement, Greg and Modulo have never let themselves be boxed in, oftentimes reaching further than the general genre confines we have become so accustomed to, in turn making their studio work much more coveted by both fans and tastemakers alike. Now, continuing on this upwards trajectory, Greg and Modulo make their much anticipated Sound Avenue debut with ‘Drosera’.

Greg Naïro, Modulo - Sigma (Ambient Version) [Sound Avenue]

A new artist to grace the Particles roster, Francisco Jose Ricardo makes a stylish debut with his "Tongue & Groove" EP. Mentored by Bedrock resident and global superstar DJ, Nick Muir, the US resident now follows up on a pair of 2021 releases for Record Union with twin original tracks. Remixes come from Simos Tagias and Nick Muir himself.

The title track opener sees "Tongue & Groove" develop easily with metronomic beat and a filtered arpeggio framework. Blossoming with club-friendly prowess, a grooved bassline is perfectly entwined between heavy beat and ticking percussion as a glass motif heralds a new sonic phase. Intelligently placed chords provide an old school house vibe while a swathe of effects and subtle piano phrase combine in the second half to impressive effect. "Jones" continues the retro vibe as a Kraftwerk-esque synth line shines through a cadenced top-line that creates dancefloor energy via a dynamic rolling groove. Stereo-panned arpeggio and textured pads add to a rich sonic collage as the track pauses for breath at the 5-minute point before dropping back into a glorious melody-fuelled finale.

A legendary figure in the underground scene as part of the Bedrock outfit alongside long-time production partner, John Digweed, Nick Muir is the epitome of the global superstar DJ. A career that dates back over 30 years, Nick's solo work as producer and DJ has seen him travel the world, while more than 400 production credits sit proudly next to his name. A trio of remixes for Rick Pier O'Neil, Sebastian Sellares and Eric Lune have seen Nick feature on Proton Music between 2019-21 as he now debuts on Particles with a typically innovative and powerful interpretation of "Tongue & Groove". Replete with a plethora of magical production techniques and backspin DJ effect, Nick Muir's skill is to expertly sculpt a new melodic framework for familiar themes within Francisco's work to shine anew. With eloquent dancefloor know-how, the track builds through its phases to create an immaculate and expertly crafted interpretation.

Simos Tagias requires little in the way of introduction with 30 production credits on Proton Music and Particles. The early part of the Greek artist's career saw such EPs on the latter that included 2014's "Drunk State" and 2017's "Airlock", while remixes for Antrim in 2015 and Gaston Ponte in June 2022 are now followed by another typically impressive remix. Characterised by a powerful bassline groove and rolling top line cadence, the Simos Tagias remix of "Tongue & Groove" provides hypnotic dancefloor energy. A filtered arpeggio enters the fray appearing alongside a swell of additional motifs and familiar pulsating soundscapes at the breakdown, before hitting its straps once more in the latter stages, propelled forwards with hypnotic vibrancy.

The lone interpretation of 'Petrichor' is provided by Emi Galvan who returns to Movement for his third appearance. The Argentinean artist continues to be an incredible talent and time and time again proves to be one of the most musically gifted producers in the progressive underground. As an artist who chooses his projects wisely Emi has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, ICONYC and Manual Music. Now making a welcome return to Movement, Emi closes the release out with a stunning interpretation of 'Petrichor'. Fluid and rhythmic from the outset, mounds of bass roll while lively percussion and gentle strums adorn the framework. Emi's true artistry shines during the main break, adding his own vocal which advances the storyboard to a unique and heavenly place, before an intense build eventually reveals the swing heavy groove once more. Yet another inspired piece of music from Emi which rounds out a monumental Movement Recordings debut for Huminal, who by all accounts are a duo who operating at their creative peak.
