And lo, did the Seladorians once again traverse the planet, seeking only the very best in sumptuous sounds, music that would rock the dancefloors to their very core. And verily we did land in Panama, where we reconnected once more with Carlos Barbero. ‘Wake Up’, his warmly received Selador debut last year, had received more plaudits than Lord Plaudit of Plauditsville on National Plaudits Day.

“Please sir,” we said, trembling in anticipation, “can we have some more?” My friends, we think you know the answer, for it resides here with you right now, a floor filler of epic proportions direct from the Barbero bunker, featuring a goosebump-generating vocal and remixers of great repute. 

‘Closer to Closure’ is the title and all versions showcase the sublime vocal performance of Dom Fricot (he of Anjunadeep and Systematic Recordings fame). The original mix is a thing of beauty, marrying brooding subtlety with striking hooks. File under essential.

We are also overjoyed to have a Selador label debut courtesy of a remix from one of our favourite producers. Yulia Niko(for it is she) is a globetrotting maestro currently resident in Berlin. Her interpretation goes deeeeeep, but also showcases the haunting vocal to brilliant effect.

With "Trust" we welcome German producer TH;EN on his label debut with a collaboration with Aves Volare. Greene and Aves Volare have developed a unique and universally appreciated style; a dynamic, groovy, deep, and hypnotic fusion of genres that fits perfectly in any kind of club or outdoor festival. The releases of these two artists have always received high praise, with support from all over the electronic music world.

On the second title track, "Menschen", TH;EN with the collaboration of Christopher Doerr drench us with shimmering festival vibes, as we meander effortlessly through melancholic melodies, while the sensual chords, while the vocal riffs sit beautifully on top adding an extra layer of depth. A predominant piece, as all sorts of elements, come in and out of the ear. Perfect for a beat-loving club crowd or to close a big night out in style.

To finish this work TH;EN presents us with "Ancora Quie" a beautiful track where the vocals transmit you to another dimension with a polished sound, it keeps the original vintage nostalgia of this work alive, with a cutting bass, before the drum fills and overall warmth combine to speak. Like something from yesteryear, but with a fresh sound, its transcendent romp raises the energy levels, but heightens the melancholy with elements both lucid and stripped back at the same time, before luscious pads adorn the breakdown changing the mood and creating a blanket of warmth that envelops the affected groove, simply wonderful.

With 'Trust', TH;EN proves that there are no limits, as this beautiful melodic gem guides you into a melodic embrace laden with the club, beauty, and melancholy that will bring many a smile. Not to be missed.

With 'Other Side' we welcome back Artem Kalalb under his new moniker Astral Base to ICONYC. With his long-awaited return to the label, Artem delivers a slice of beautiful summer vibes. He kicks things off nicely with a deep foundation of melancholic moodiness, as the track strolls effortlessly through melodic inspired deep grooves, while the infectious chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. An exquisite track from Artem to introduce his new moniker on ICONYC.

The first remix comes courtesy of Irish sensation Whoriskey, famed for his intricate and refined productions delivers a cool uplifting take while adding his own personal touch to give the track a truly unique feel. His rework creates tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The drive and energy are the key here, as this controlled gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

The second remix from Frezel is an equally stunning example of how to create deep and moody vibes. The Dutch producer who is known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal leitmotif of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh - This transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

All the ingredients are there for another instant ICONYC classic and a fitting way to start the summer on ICONYC in style. Astral Base' 'Other Side' sees a worldwide release on July 15th, 2022. Don't miss out on this marvelous release.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the summer season by welcoming Tristan Case back to the label for his debut EP. Renowned for his dreamy yet reassuringly tough and beautifully balanced approach to deep house, UK born, Australia based artist Tristan Case has carved out a sound all his own. From his 2020 debut on Do Not Sit On The Furniture to more recent offerings via Flug Lab, onedotsixtwo and UGENIUS Music, the Sydney resident has enjoyed a three-year creative swell. Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for Tristan's organic sounds, with a contribution to Volume Four of the imprint's popular 'Correlation' series marking his label debut in April of last year. This well received first offering would lead to 2022 remixes of Mariner + Domingo and Nopi, both of which were written in conjunction with Australian artist Tam Barlow. Now returning to the label in solo capacity once again, Tristan presents 'Aurora's Story' alongside a remix from Barry Jamieson. 

EP opener and title selection 'Aurora's Story' finds Tristan operating at the peak of his creative powers. Fuelled by emotion and groove; its warm voluptuous basslines, liquid-like rhythms and tight percussive arrangements resonate on a transcendent level. Deep and melodic across the first movement, Tristan continues his elusive ways with balmy overlays, arpeggiated fragments and panning effects creating a bridge into the main break. Sitting in a poignant yet thought provoking space, a stunning melodic narrative captivates as the interlude evolves, flowing through fluttery motifs and colourful textures as tasteful modulation spearheads a groove-centric drop and nostalgic finale.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Aurora's Story' is Barry Jamieson. Born and raised in England but now based in New York, the UK artist has had a hand in some of electronic music's most revered tracks. From engineering some of Sasha's career defining productions, to remixing New Order, The Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode, Orbital, Madonna, Seal and more, Barry has been one of the most transcendent figures in the evolution of electronic music. More recently Barry's inimitable production touch has found a home on ICONYC, Mango Alley, Proton and Replug. Now adding Sound Avenue to his resume Barry debuts on the label with a stunning rendition of 'Aurora's Story'. With a greater club sensibility, Barry takes inspiration from the original, remodeling the track into a dizzying dance floor slam. Complete with a spectacular effects narrative, hyperactive rhythms and a forest of fresh sonic details, it's an adrenalized energy-rush for the ages - one where Barry lands sounding bigger than ever.

Rounding out the release are the broken beats and earnest musicality of 'Twelveslept'. From buoyant upbeat beginnings come heartfelt themes and striking percussive arrangements which captivate leading into the break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, Tristan reaffirms his musical prowess with heartfelt harmonics, choir-like overlays and balmy effects which play across the main break, only to be washed away in a timely fashion for a goosebump inducing conclusion. Tristan continues to impress with his Sound Avenue return, a three-track affair which continues an incredible year for the fast-rising progressive phenom.

Tristan Case - Aurora's Story [Sound Avenue]

As you all know, war has come to our land. Ukrainian cities are impacted by airstrikes and cruise missiles cruelly and treacherously. Dear Deer Music steps up with a superb new compilation that acts as a fundraiser for the people of Ukraine. It is a superb melodic techno showcase featuring fresh cuts from the likes of Alemao, Syncosis, OSHI, Orient Heights, and many more.

Nicolas Piper & Raoul Russu open with the melodic rolling techno of Duophonic and then OSHI brings the groves with Apogeo, a delicate cut with elegant synths which ring out in the skies above the beats. Syncosis keeps it atmospheric with the thunderous claps of Humans and its freaky voices, and Alemao's Onyrythm is another spine-tinging cut with great synth work and cosmic vibes.

Elsewhere Orient Heights, FXTR, and Garbin all take listeners on an astral journey with elongated grooves, progressive melodies, and the sort of starry chords that light up a club with emotive sound. The final trio of cuts from Kostas Skretas V - Cious and Epsilon Gruv completes this innovative collection with a more mind-expanding and stylish melodic techno.

'For a long time, there were no new names from Cuba on the Polyptych. Odax breaks this trend by bringing us his new three-track release 'Unhappy Nation'. 

After participating in the duos Nacional Electronica and I.A., Odax launched his solo career in the summer of 2021, releasing his first single on La Cura de la Semana. After that, he managed to work with Freegrant Music, and also got into the compilation from Cosmic Gate, which became a noticeable highlight of his career. Following the hugely successful release of their 'Symbiosis' debut album, on which Dutch duo Callecat took us on a blissed-out journey, collaborating with some of the best producers in progressive house music, it's now time for the remixes.

We're happy to announce that every single song of the LP will be remixed, and- like with the collaborating artists on the album- the people they've invited to rework the songs are nothing short of spectacular!
