Blanka Barbara lands on ICONYC for her full-length debut titled 'Forgotten Pharaoh' in collaboration with renowned vocalist Jinadu. The UK based producer continues to be one of the top tier progressive house artists with continued support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Nick Warren, along with releases on Mango Alley, Eat My Hat and Krafted among others. 

'Forgotten Pharaoh' finds Blanka and Jinadu at their creative best with a driving, hypnotic production that's nicely dialed in or the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, driving groove anchor the piece, as vibrant tones and spacey effects adorn the framework. Once the main break hits with Jinadu's outstanding vocal work, the stellar charm of the composition quickly saturates your pleasure centers, before melting down to a resounding reservoir as the beats drop for a storming finale. Outstanding work from Blanka & Jinadu.

The first remix of 'Forgotten Pharaoh' comes courtesy of non-other than Aaron Suiss, who returns to the label with a deep melodic remix here. The US artist reshapes the original elements into something deeper and more melodic spacious sounding. The wonk factor on the low end is quite high and monumentally groovy as well, nicely playing off the rolling rhythmic qualities as dulcet hooks and gentle harmonics drift in and out of the framework. The main break shifts the narrative into more emotive territory but the dance floor sensibility remains, with muted beats and percussive clusters building towards a tasteful drop. Superb rework from Aaron. 

The third and final interpretation of 'Forgotten Pharaoh' comes from label debutant Jas/t. The French producer follows up on excellent releases on ERRORR, Addicted & Zatar Music with a brilliant interpretation here. Deep, compelling and acutely mysterious, its deep melodic qualities and richly textured groove make for a lovely first act. As atmospheres evolve, distinctive stabs and vocal edits steal the air, before a one-minute break takes you further into a haze of psychedelic audio, perfectly setting up a groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Jas/t that's likely destined for the sets of the big boy brigade. Highly recommended.

This is a one hour recording of the HALO all nighter last December at Shelter Amsterdam. Where you would normally see a set climb upwards all night, we went the opposite way of ‘climbing downwards’. This seems counterintuitive at first, but I often find this subtle, introverted euphoria more interesting and rewarding than chasing climax after climax. All night long sets make these deviations from the norm possible. Happy listening!

Originally released via ICONYC Noir, Zacharias Tiempo's 'Moon Racer' did the rounds back in June 2020 with its hybrid take on indie house and melodic techno. Now, fast forward four years, and ICONYC is proud to unveil one of its most cherished gems to date with a cheeky and intrepid version of 'Moon Racer' by revered French producer MAGA. 

Born out of MAGA's own initiative, in his edit of 'Moon Racer', an infectious old-school vocal line surges through restrained kicks and sparse percussion, rising in energy until it collides against a brick wall of a low-end. Now, with the groove locked and in full swing, MAGA treads over restless hi-hats as he traverses through a glittering menagerie of dazzling effervescent aural effects before unleashing the sultry vocal again, allowing it to progress as it thrusts us deep into an avant-garde intergalactic disco-laced haze. Showcasing one of MAGA's finest moments as a producer/remixer, the Nice-born producer brings it all back down with some heavy-handed tribal patterns reminiscent of those legendary nights at New York's fabled Twilo and its unique sound.

A gorgeous and utterly irresistible moment, MAGA's sublime edit of 'Moon Racer' stands as proof of his enthralling creativity as he breathes a new lease of life into Zacharias Tiempo's energetic original, flipping it on its head for a more primal late-night seance.
