 Yekaye’ is a surprisingly vibrant offering. Fully framed into the Afro house landscape and with strong Amapiano roots, the track showcases Kroyan’s imaginative and eclectic artistry, able to channel everything from tribal grooves to ethereal vocal samples. The goal is always the same: building a listening experience that’s cathartic and memorable, something that might even aid some introspection. 

‘Yekaye’ is the perfect match for such a strong ethos. Guided by Edgar Kroyan’s expert hands, the record wraps the listeners into a series of hazy and dreamy melodies, with a certain hypnotising flair, we’d say. Layering percussions and synth arpeggios, the Armenia-based producer builds a sonic outlook that’s timeless and heavenly-sounding. Yet, it’s also elegant and luscious, an approachable and welcome slice of modern electronica. 

Speaking about his artistry, Kroyan explains: “This is the beginning of a series of compositions that I am preparing in the coming months. I work every day and I believe that it is necessary to experiment in music and that music has no boundaries.”

As we break into the dawn of a new cycle, ICONYC's latest anthology of tracks blossoms forth into the light with the second installment of the 'Florilegia' series. Comprised of 10 spellbinding creations, our latest delivery of 'Florilegia' features the sounds of Vomee, Enes Çakır & Yost Koen, Odeon, Gorgin, Baime & Jepe, ETRI, Auggië, Mironas, OLING & Harald Björk, and Nuage.

The first seed on our compilation is planted by Vomee's 'You Are Not There', a restless act where vocal flourishes come alive in technicolor as they blaze across a thunderous creation for a soaring opening. In our second act, Enes Çakır & Yost Koen keep the energy flowing through the veins with a mechanical frame, razor-sharp stabs, and bending synthetics as the pair come together to generate some unstoppable momentum in 'Two of Us'.  For our third stop on the compilation, we uncover Odeon's 'Used to Say', which takes us deep inside a broken frame and lush vocal dashes soaked in a dazzling narrative bound to etch its way into our memory forever. Following up, Gorgin presents us with 'Amaryllis', a rare breed of flower that grows in tension with every passing beat as cascading arpeggios glide across the piece while lush synth swells draw enthralling shapes before its iridescent lead takes hold of the cut. For our fifth run, Baime & Jepe come together to unveil the alluring 'Prochamara'. Racing over a menacing low end, the production pair constantly switches gears in a gripping production adorned with distorted stabs and vocal chops as it glides across the night sky. 

Coming in hot on the halfway mark, ETRI plants 'Did It Again', a deep and highly narcotic cut that treads into uncharted waters with unparalleled aplomb with true Indie flair. Then, it is Auggië who steps up to the plate with 'Como Te Llamas', leading us inside a complex concoction where grinding gears set the stage for undulating synth swells and meandering brass lines. In our eighth chapter, Mironas presents us with the sublime '9ths', an exquisite exploration where neon-laced sequences run amok, leading 'Florilegia' to new heights. Following up, OLING & Harald Björk link up for 'Jade'. Here, sultry warped vocals and lively squelches intertwine for an exquisite state-of-the-art take on electronic music. Finally, it is Nuage who wraps up our second installment of 'Florilegia' with 'Stones Speak Silent', a perfect closing where broken beats and ethereal vocals come together to create a spellbinding piece that nourishes dreams with a gorgeous hue for the ultimate send-off. 

Another quintessential compendium of modern club electronica, ICONYC's second installment of 'Florilegia' is a gorgeous bouquet of sounds set to define the modern dancefloors and beyond.
