Following up a stellar contribution to the ‘In Order To Dance 4.0’ album with his track ‘Structured Chaos’, UK producer Dharma returns to R&S Records with a 4 track EP brimming with forward thinking electronic sounds.

Having previously released on esteemed labels such as Lone Romantic, Permanent Vacation and Man Power’s Me Me Me imprint, the Sunderland born producer stacks up four tracks of colourful and urgent dance on the ‘Gracie’ EP.

From the opening title track to the EP’s closing number ‘Ratchet’, Dharma takes kaleidoscopic melodies and analogue motifs and melds them around futuristic breaks and intelligent rhythms, resulting in a bright and exuberant collection of tracks.

Norwegian producer/DJ @meera_etc is known for her signature blend of atmospheric, dark, deep, and driving rhythms, woven together with intricate layers that create a dynamic, immersive, and introspective sound. Our next guest for the 22nd edition of our guest mix series has been in our humble opinion, in the last year, one of the most exciting producers in the indie dance and house music scene.

An Austrian wunderkind in the electronic music scene, he has been making waves with his avant-garde sound and unique production style. Classically trained on both piano and drums, he spent eight years honing his craft, even performing in several orchestras before diving deep into electronic music. 

His innovative blend of melodic house and techno, infused with a mix of melancholy and abstract elements, sets him apart from his peers. He approaches music like a painter, crafting vivid scapes with wilding colors and unexpected motives.

Recently, he has been celebrated for his releases on the prestigious Innervisions label, with his tracks featured on their latest Secret Weapons compilation. Industry titans like Dixon and Âme have taken notice, regularly supporting his tracks. He did not stop there, as he kept pushing out quality and fresh productions under imprints such as ICONYC, Monaberry, Anims, Surrrealism and Frau Blau. 

With each new release, he continues to push the boundaries of his art, leaving a lasting impression on the global electronic music community.

Drumcode starts 2020 with a sterling EP from genre hero Thomas Schumacher, his first on the label after a long association with Adam Beyer.

No ifs or buts, if you’re a techno fan, Thomas Schumacher holds a place in your heart. His 1997 classic ‘When I Rock’ still gets rinsed, he has a vast body of stellar work on his influential former label Spielzeug Schallplatten, including a release from Adam Beyer, and he continues to deliver pin-sharp productions via his Electric Ballroom imprint, including a scorching remix of ‘The House of House’, the 1994 classic from Cherry Moon Trax. The rework was first played by Beyer at Time Warp and has been a 2019 highlight.

He first contributed to Drumcode in 2018 with ‘The Unseen’, a stirring contribution to ‘A-Sides Vol.7’, setting up a maiden EP with ‘Crimson’. Beginning with the brilliant ‘Feist’, it’s a no-nonsense brain melter, as 303 arpeggios bloom and recede, creating a thrilling rhythmic intensity throughout. The title track ‘Crimson’ is crafted around two minutes of tension-building synths, before a beat finally appears and a rasping deep bassline commands the dancefloor. ‘Anker’ brings the rave with eagle-eye focus, unleashing a wall of fierce acid to round out the pack.

With his brand new 'Crescendo EP' we welcome German soundmeister. Known for his deep techno vibes and house club burners productions he lands back on ICONYC with his 'Crescendo EP' featuring a remix from SPNYRD. 

Heerhorst' latest outing on ICONYC shows maturity and musical development, as we kick off procedures with the title track 'Crescendo'. The track opens with all the right notes, as the expressive, melodic techno influenced track grabs you from the word go, interspersing with roomy glowing vibes and filtered stabs, driving leads culminating into an energetic drop to round off this brilliant underground crowd pleaser. Heerhorst manage to keep the energy up, subtlety allowing the driving feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape.

Next up 'Crescendo' gets the remix treatment courtesy of SPNYRD known for his polished and intricate sound profiling. The Hamburg based producer keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh and upfront - This transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. 

Last but not least, the Heerhorst drops the equally stunning 'Ganon'. The track kicks things off nicely with its deep vibes shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and vocal samples sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. The track continues to build on a solid foundation of tough percussive grooves and bass-lines. 'Ganon' is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that Heerhorst is a true masters of his craft.

With 'Crescendo' Heerhorst really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic gem guides you to a deep warm groove laden, melodic hug of a release that will leave you with many smile induced moments!
