Kx5 is a collaboration over a decade and a half in the making. deadmau5 and Kaskade effectively changed the electronic music landscape when they paired together for 2008’s slow-burning “I Remember” and the influence of their follow up “Move For Me” cemented their influence as the standard. Both tracks peaked at No. 1 within a week of one another on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. The GRAMMY-nominated artists’ paths crossed again on 2016’s ominous “Beneath with Me” featuring Skylar Grey.  More recently, in July 2021, Kaskade made history as the first public concert performed at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. The sold-out show featured a surprise set by deadmau5 and had the two artists reuniting again for a set to close the show. As Kx5, deadmau5 and Kaskade are primed to write their own history. With 'Fire in Me' we welcome Innėr Sense to ICONYC in collaboration with vocalist Dana Barbara. The duo delivers a slice of warm, pulsating club vibes. The original track kicks things off with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry bassline and Dana's vocals sit wonderfully on top, adding an extra layer of depth and class. The duo mean business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!

On remix duty we welcome Stone Van Brooken for his debut on ICONYC with a thumping remix for the ages. The French producer who is known for his driving melodic techno influenced sounds, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. It's all about the groove, cool melodic vibes and the deep driving beats that are working their magic around Stone's wonderfully arranged keys and the wonderful use of elements on offer. 

The second remix comes courtesy of Octavio Gimenez. His unique act and emotional creations carry quite a large scope. He is not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with his remix of 'Fire in Me', which carries many of his loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to like. The main break is perhaps the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with effortless ease.

Giuseppe Ottaviani makes his Anjunabeats debut with Alex Sonata & TheRio and Tishmal on ‘Tears Of The Kingdom’, out now on Anjunabeats.

Trance linchpin Giuseppe Ottaviani first made a name for himself as one half of the Italian production duo Nu NRG. The pair caught the attention of Paul van Dyk in 2001, and after signing to his renowned label Vandit Records, they quickly gained international fame. Since disbanding in 2005 to focus on their solo careers, Giuseppe has performed at some of the biggest dance festivals on earth, including Tomorrowland, Dreamstate, EDC and more. This year, he’s released five singles with an array of artists including Scooter and ilan Bluestone, as well as a remix of David Guetta’s smash hit ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, and now has 829K monthly listeners and 119K followers on Spotify alone. 

Hailing from Scotland and Italy, production duo Alex Sonata & TheRio have rapidly ascended in the global trance scene. The pair first teamed up in 2018; after several collaborations, they made it official in 2020, and Alex Sonata & TheRio was born. They've released a string of explosive club tracks on Anjunabeats including 'Breath Of The Wild', 'Cala Luna', 'Time' and 'Are We Dreaming', and performed at Creamfields and Group Therapy Weekender London last year.

This year: the duo remixed ‘Equal’ from Andrew Bayer’s fourth studio album ‘Duality’; released ‘Mantra’, which has been hammered by Above & Beyond live of late, including at their headline performance at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and at legendary London institution Printworks; and joined forces with Elevven on ‘Hanalei’, which shot to #4 in the Beatport Top 100 Trance chart.

Electro pop songwriter and vocalist Tishmal has gone from strength to strength since releasing her debut single ‘Underneath’ in 2017, opening for the likes of CHVRCHES, Zara Larsson, XYLØ, The Aces and beyond. This year, she featured on Sultan + Shepard’s ‘Losing Ground’ from their latest album ‘Forever, Now’, and dropped a single on RMB Media. 

Named after the Zelda video game of the same name, ’Tears Of The Kingdom’ is an impressive collision of worlds that combines Giuseppe’s melodic nous, Alex Sonata & TheRio’s distinctive groove and Tishmal’s soothing vocals.

Alex Sonata & TheRio recently made an appearance at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festivities at The Gorge, our Anjunabeats Rising Summer Social in London and our Anjunabeats Outdoors show in Montreal, with more performances to come soon.

Born in Habana Cuba to a family of musicians. Left to the States at the age of 15 and life took it's own course. After experiencing the pandemic I decided to go back to my roots and develop all the music skills I had left in my past and that is of course through DJing because I am EDM , it is my go to when I feel alone, sad , happy , motivated etc.
