Blazing onto ICONYC for its 21st release, Swiss sonic alchemist Shiffer makes a striking debut with the magnetic All I've Been EP. Celebrated for his emotional finesse and innate ability to connect with unexplored corners, Shiffer's latest creation, including a lucious collaboration with Paul Brenning and capped off by Jonathan Kaspar's trademark rework, is a tantalizing suite designed to echo in our timeless halls.
 
The journey begins with Shiffer & Paul Brenning's opening manifesto, "All I've Been", a track that unfurls with both confidence and caution, as if self-aware from its very first beat. Mechanical whirs and fractured frames give way to low-end swells that drive forward with an unrelenting undertow. Brenning's unmistakable vocals start to break a warmer ground as they linger in the liminal space between today and tomorrow before slowly growing in gravitas. Suddenly, the piece begins to contort, drawing spellbinding figures as arresting arrangements and melodic flourishes allow for decompression. Imbued with a tantalizing breakdown that amplifies their exquisite use of negative space, "All I've Been" is a fascinating and intimate take that feels as expansive as it ever could.

ICONYC calls upon Cologne innovator Jonathan Kaspar, who delivers a singular reinterpretation of "All I've Been". Immersed in iridescent textures, Kaspar layers lush, swelling pads over pulsing low frequencies, their ebb and flow punctured by flashes of distortion that spark like electric currents.. Reflective and equally immersive, Jonathan Kaspar's take on "All I've Been" pushes the collaboration into a brash new terrain while retaining the spiritual ethos intact.
 
"Urban Legends", closes the release and takes a bolder stance. Anchored by heavy drum programming that carves its place with deliberate force, the track is haunted by ghostlike vocal fragments that lend an unsettling, cinematic edge.. Out from the left field, Shiffer deploys undulating synthetics that intertwine with consummate ease as they glide under the spotlight. An alluring act that treads unhurried and unconcerned, "Urban Legends" operates at its own pace, far from the demands of a world lost in the metropolitan hustle, allowing us to bask in a lore of things that might or might never have happened.

With our 108th release on the label we welcome back Naz aka NorCal Junkie with his latest single 'Regulus'. Naz delivers a track full of attitude, punchy and driven, with its dark slant, yet tasty melodies, this beautifully layered gem oozes class and destined to do some serious dance floor damage, personifying a producer on top of his game. 'Regulus’ is pure dance floor gold. The release features 3 outstanding reworks from: Verche, Cristian R and Leo Delgado & Jose Barrios.

Verche’s titanium coated interpretation has a poignant and impactful feel. Jagged sub tones and a profoundly subversive bass line that reaches rib cage breaking depths sits at the foundation. Draped with sheets of percolating effects a futuristic and deeply thought provoking set of tones bending chords wash over the composition which creates a rather daunting and ominous mood. The composition peaks with the lead chords warping and twisting their way to a momentous sonic conclusion. 

Cristian R who has achieved an amazing level of critical success with his last few outings, over the course of his career, supplies the third remix of 'Regulus’. As one of Argentina's most talented and sought after music producers Cristian has completely overhauled the huge original into a funky, wobbly, orchestral mix for the ages. An irresistibly deep groove is complemented with gorgeous chord accents, shuffling drums and panoramic, widescreen synths for what results in one of Cristian’s most unique and inspiring studio creations to date.

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of Argentinian Leo Delgado famed for his outstanding release on the label back in May of last year called Meteor Shower. This time around he teamed up with compatriot Jose Barrios to bring us their rework that will have melodic prog house fans rejoicing, as they deliver a poignant and driving mix that will sure enough earn them praise from the leading lights of the dance music cosmos. The moody theme from the original is maintained and presented with a tougher and even more warped sensibility, which should wreak havoc on even the most discerning dance floors.
