Et maintenant pour quelque chose d’un peu différent, pour la première fois mais définitivement pas la dernière, nous revisitons notre back catalog. ‘Heal’ de Stacktrace, tirée de notre compilation dubtechno ‘Tones & Echoes’ est le premier morceau à recevoir ce traitement.

Il amène son propre riddim au niveau supérieur avec une version de 10 minutes qui part d’une introduction weightless mystique pour culminer en un bouquet final stepper à la bassline diabolique qui fera même skanker vos grand-parents. Il fait ensuite appel au Bruxellois Knurx qui ajoute un twist digital dub à l’original, tandis que notre label manager Qant prend une direction hybride 160 bpm avec sa propre version. Enfin, Stacktrace et Knurx joignent leurs forces pour une dernière version, pertinemment nommée ‘Hi-Kick Stepper Version’, pas besoin de plus d’explications, laissez la bassline parler d'elle-même.

Now for something different, for the first time but definitely not the last we’re looking back and revisiting some of our back catalog. Stacktrace’s ‘Heal’ from our ‘Tones & Echoes’ compilation is the first to get this treatment.

He takes his own tune onto the next level with a powerful ten minute version that builds up from a mystical weightless introduction to a stepper climax with a devilish bassline that even your nan will skank to. He then enlists the help of Bruxelles’ Knurx for a digital dub twist, while label manager Qant goes down the hybrid 160 bpm route with their own version. Lastly, both Stacktrace and Knurx join forces on one last version, aptly named ‘Hi-Kick Stepper Version’, no need for explanation there, let the bass weight speak for itself.

'PAX LUNA' expands on the the previously showcased styles from Donija, moving away from the more aired out and atmospheric textures, and honing in on an energy of hedonistic grit.

☛ DJ Babatr — founding figure of the Raptor House movement and a true pioneer of Venezuela’s electronic scene. From the streets of Caracas to dancefloors worldwide, his raw and vibrant sound blends tribal percussion, urban energy, and futuristic electronic pulses. Paris-based collective and label Couvre x Chefs had the honor of hosting him for his first club show in France in October 2023 at Petit Bain. This defining moment marked the beginning of a lasting connection between the producer and our label.

☛ Two years later, this relationship comes full circle with the release of Pedro Le Dino (Bandcamp), an explosive and organic EP, due late 2025 on Couvre x Chefs. With this new project, DJ Babatr continues to push the boundaries of his sound, weaving techno and trance influences into the relentless rhythmic intensity that defines Raptor House, asserting more than ever his unique vision of contemporary electronic music.
