At Simply Deep, our aim is to always bring the world exciting, energetic and creative dance music, regardless of  genre stereotypes or themes. This latest offering sees us delve further and deeper into a more techno inspired selection, as we welcome in Black Mags across four hard hitting originals, along with a couple of sumptuous remix editions, just to add that extra dash of electronic flavour to the mix.

We begin this project by strapping into  the tribal drum work and chilling atmospheric progression of ‘Badda’, a  track driven by it’s heavyweight rolling percussion and constantly shuffling rhythmic  arrangements, showcasing the style and taste that Black Mags brings to the table right from  the off. Following this we switch up massively as we enter the vortex of grimey synthesizers  and popping kick drum manoeuvres of ‘Destroy’ in a major contrast to the first track.

As we hit the third original we land perfectly onto the lo-fi title track which goes by the name of  ‘Embargo’. This one sits majestically between techno and breaks, employing elements of both  genres in a stunning harmony of electronic design. The last of the originals goes by the name of  ‘Network’ and is a shotgun party of a riddim to say the least. Impactful clap patterns and dominant 808 structures patrol the lower decks with precise vocal samples and delicate  reverberations circulating above.

On remix duty we firstly welcome in Big Hands for a super stripped back breaks inspired recreation of the title track ‘Embargo’, focussing on weird, glitchy drum selections and  constantly expanding melodic structure. We also hear Gideon Greene’s techno overhaul,  highlighting the metallic percussive stabs with it’s constantly evolving percussive layout. These  are six tracks we have been extremely eager to get out there, holding a perfect balance of genre  exploration from start to finish.

The fourth release is a big one for Holding Hands as they branch out into brand new territory with their first new signing on the label. 
Breaka usually runs in very different circles, producing footwork, juke and DnB from his home in Leeds. These are the first tunes of his at a slower tempo to be released but you can certainly hear those influences loud and clear in these certified UK 125-130bpm bangers.
