Disruption is the approach that, above all, heralds change. The need for change is as imperative as ever, so we are called to disrupt: an expression that intervenes, a disturbance that demands attention, a rallying cry that cuts through the overbearing, disempowering white noise of oppression.

For SouqSounds, the sound of collective action is a mobilisation of sonic cultures, communal spirit and solidarity for the disenfranchised. Intricate percussive rhythms meet rumbles of bass from our inner core: إزعاج is a rally of heartbeats. Contributions from Kaval and DJ Double Oh! are all action, each amping up the drumwork into a galvanising rush. Ikävä Pii’s pulses are lithe and elastic, while Mandem motions a more introspective mood. Ovid embraces an exhilarating tension between keyboard melodies and string and woodwind samples, a counterweight to Loris’ bright, floating opener. Each track is a moment unto itself, demanding attention, cutting through noise.

Let the disruptors lay siege to the factories of apartheid until they are disarmed – until the only weapons we need are MP3s on USBs. Let the speakers sing of how we channelled kindness to transform realities. Let the dancefloors become demonstrations that deepen the cracks in the grounds of injustice, until they’ve ruptured entirely.

Proceeds from the compilation’s sales will be directed to Palestine Action and the earthquake appeal in Turkey, Syria and Kurdistan.

The Paris-based Mauritian artist GREG is without a doubt one of the French newcomers whose rise has been the most spectacular in recent years.
 Following his very first EP "Eau Coulée Smart City" released in 2021 on lavibe, he immediately found himself propelled under the spotlight: selected by DJ MAG UK among the 11 emerging artists to follow, described in a complete portrait on Libération as "one of the hottest talents of French dance music", the medias are numerous to want to discover the young artist, from France Inter to Radio nova or Pan african music, and his EP unanimously praised by the specialized press, from Resident Advisor to Trax magazine.

GREG became very quickly an icon of the new French scene that brings electronic music out of its classical boundaries. First of all for his impressive DJ talents, mixing outstanding technical skills and eclectic selections, which earned him invitations to Nuits Sonores (Lyon), Nyege Nyege festival (Paris & Amsterdam), and in most of the key clubs in Europe and France, including b2b performances with respected artists such as Teki latex, Kampire, Bambounou or Simo Cell. But he is also acclaimed as a producer, especially with his hit "Dembow Tronico" featuring the Latin Grammy awarded beatmaker King Doudou, which trigger a wave of Shazam requests every time it's played on the radioshow or a club.

 After a huge anticipation from all of his fans, the Mauritian artist is finally ready to unveil his new ep Jazz Net, on April 13th on lavibe.

 Gqom, Techno, Dancehall, Footwork, Bass music... with this new release, the young talent steps up the musical genres hybridation with even more subtlety, especially in the rhythmical patterns, making the tracks at the same time stylistically indefinable, singular to the point of not being able to link them to a particular scene, but always with the dancefloor in sight, be it at 130 or 95bpm.
Composed from his home studio, the 4 original tracks were then reworked in terms of additional programming and mixing in collaboration with the producer and sound designer LE DOM, partly at Redbull Studio (Paris).

And as a link with his first EP, Greg asked the godfather of the French Bass music scene Simo Cell (Livity Sound, BFDM, Temet) to produce 2 remixes of the banger "Dembow Tronico" released in 2021. The talented Nantes based producer delivered 2 new versions, dissecting the original track, injecting many effects (work on vocals, ASMR ...) and bringing it in a new dimension, even more DJ friendly, but still faithful to the basic track.

Following on from their 2021 joint single on Even The Strong – ‘Yeyeyeye / Hammerhead’ – Bristol based percussion-heads DJ Polo & NKC drop Lab Rat, a hard-as-nails four track EP including a melodic, groove-led Bok Bok remix.
