The machine was powerful. It shook the room whilst in operation and created a tremendous noise which bounced between the walls and caused the foundations of the building to wobble and shake beneath the strain. It punched and prowled, dense stabs of metallic energy filled the air. One by one, two by two. From outside it must sound like some apocalyptic creature was being unleashed within the four walls of the warehouse but to them on the inside, watching it self destruct was a thing of beauty. 

Alex Autajon is set to release new music on MOVELTRAXX, an EP which sends a nod to the fast paced past of Dance Mania and Ghettotech whilst also drawing upon influences from the world of Juke and Ballroom. Sharp stabs punch and pound in this sun kissed summer track ready to do damage on the dancefloor.

'Improvisations', a new compilation from Rinse France's Clad, pulls together future-facing sounds from various close friends and affiliates, half French and half international. UK electronic artist Troy Gunner features on the Grid Records release alongside E-Unity, Kevin Murf, C.Coiffure and more. The compilation's concept is a chance for artists to dip into genres and sounds they're not known for, and on 'The Way You Went Away', Gunner eschews the sorts of darker bass explorations he's made his name with. "This track was recorded on an Uno synth and reflected back in on itself via a spiderweb of effects chains that sit as a foundation around a series of field recordings made across Berlin and Bristol," Troy Gunner says. "It's a deeply personal piece I hold very close to my heart which I originally planned to keep close to my chest indefinitely, as it's dedicated to a good friend that passed away who I sorely miss. Shouts to Clad for putting it out on an absolutely incredible compilation among a plethora of artists I'm really excited about - there is just too much good stuff coming out of France at the moment. Shouts to Haider for gifting me the synth that I built the track on, and for his wisdom (which I've actually sampled in the middle section)." Featuring ASMR-like whispers and intricate sound design, the beatless cut is a beauty.

​Budding UK artist Viers has launched a new series of electronic compilations via the label Dream Of Dystopia.

The four-track release 'A Moment In The Machine' is made to express and illustrate Viers' dreams of the post-apocalyptic, industrial, futurist and minimal. The imprint describes these fantasies as "the perfect playgrounds because they combine elements of our real world with speculative elements that so not exist in real life".

Today's premiere of 'Nothing Beats Rock' is a classic warehouse jam with an addictive techno tick that glides from a swelling undertow thump to flashing, shuffling snaps. There are breaks of downtime featuring soft bounces of sound in between the production's ringing high-pitched fractures.
