M.A.P.S have been squirrelling away in the studio creating music influenced by the sources they respect. A love of hip hop, dub, electro, techno, dubstep, from producers as varied as King Tubby through Moodymann have helped breathe life back into their beat making. The moniker may be fairly new however the brains behind it are experienced music heads, working under numerous guises having helped to promote some of Glasgow’s favourite underground parties.
Production wise there are many ideas sitting waiting to be completed from M.A.P.S and those on show at the moment only hint at what is to come in the future. Conformity is not a strong point for this duo: but music is. Groups of songs that aim to challenge you to embrace different moods and styles in a single session will be shared. One minute a slow electronica jam the next a 2am sweaty dance floor groove.  Reluctant to be shadowy figures behind a half-eaten apple, there are ongoing discussions (mainly between themselves) to get out and to play live, only hindered by their own inability to decide how to do it best.
Let’s take the music back to small dark minimal spaces where DJ’s and producers can play whatever they want to a crowd that appreciate hearing different styles. DJ sets can start with hip hop, dub, or funk and end with Detroit’s finest, meandering between to allow you to develop with the music as the night progresses. This is the philosophy of M.A.P.S, where the crowd gets treated to nuggets in the box that are rarely heard.

iluna is a Scottish DJ and producer now rooted in Mexico City. Her moniker—taken from the Basque ilun meaning “dark, mysterious, obscure”—speaks to a sound that is simultaneously hypnotic and forceful, drawing from deep textures, driving rhythms and raw dance-floor energy.

Over the past six months she has embedded herself in Mexico City’s underground — crafting sets that unfold with purpose, intensity and emotional depth, connecting mind and body. For her, techno is less a style and more communion: building tension, releasing energy, ascending through sound.

In Scotland she holds residencies with Tribal Pulse and EPiKA, and has taken her sound to major dancefloors including Terminal V Festival, the iconic Sub Club for Soma Records’ Return to Mono night, and the Berkeley Suite stage alongside the legendary I LOVE ACID collective. She has supported seminal acts including Leftfield, Vitalic, Harvey McKay and DJ Pierre.

Her forthcoming release on Tribal Pulse, scheduled for 31 October, marks the next step in her evolving sonic identity—music designed to move and unite.

as a producer, her releases on soma, space textures, orbitando, and systolic have explored the deeper, atmospheric side of techno and ambient, balancing intricate sound design with hypnotic rhythms.

this same approach extends into dub series, a project originally founded with long-standing late collaborator niamh jobson and now co-hosted with danny greenman (dj greenman), focusing on dub techno and its influence across other sub-genres.

in 2024, she launched 313 connection at la cheetah alongside glasgow selector undercurrent, a night dedicated to the deep connection between detroit and glasgow’s underground. though new, it has already cemented itself as a key fixture in the city’s scene.

beyond djing, kairogen is deeply embedded in the scene, freelancing across lighting, sound, label artwork, and bar residencies, all while keeping a strong connection to the wider club community.

a resident for both epika, the all-femme edinburgh-based collective, and london’s sisu crew, she moves between a wide spectrum of sounds—whether it’s the melodic side of techno, electro, house, or ambient.

with a passion for playing with emotions and creating a sense of togetherness through sound, she crafts sets that feel immersive, intuitive, and deeply connected to the dancefloor.
